This is just an opinion. It's not attempting to say that any person or group of people is any better or worse than anybody else.
The D/s leaning people (and by D/s, I'm using it for also M/s, O/p, and anything else folks want to throw in there) are going to come back with some kind of answer related to authority/power/control, or from the other side, giving up authority/power/control. For a lot of people, that's going to be their primary thing. It's not an activity. It's a mind-set.
Fetishists. I completely expect anybody with a particular fetish that makes them want to be into this gig to enjoy and connect with that fetish. I expect that to be their answer. A couple of people mentioned latex/rubber, (which is an awesome fetish, btw) and it's going to be their primary drive.
Rope people are almost in a class by themselves because some of them just plain have a passion for rope. I don't have that same passion. To me, rope is something you do as a preface for something else. More often than not, tying people bores me to tears. If it's *just* going to be about rope, I'll pass.
I consider myself pretty straight-forward about the S/m thing. If I'm not getting my thrills out of it from my own side, I'm not going to waste my time. Some people will engage in certain types of service topping to please their partner, but I'm really not one of them. On the other hand, there are certain kinks that I really groove with depending on WHO is on the other end. For example, I love, love, love needles, but certain needle bottoms are just WAY better than others. Hypothetically, if I ever crossed paths with Bita for this activity, I probably wouldn't come down from cloud nine for a week. I think the same way about Ishtar in regard to fear play, because she'd just plain be awesome. (I don't know if I could pull that one off, but it's fun to think about.)
