The US under Trump has already ceded global power. We've walked away from Europe and NATO, alienated our allies (even Canada and Australia), leaving Germany to lead the free world. We've walked away from our own agreements, leaving the rest of the world knowing that including us in negotiations and partnerships is pointless, so they'd best pass over us and continue into the future without us. And economically, we've ceded leadership by default to China, including ecology and human rights leadership, even Pacific partnerships, now in the hands of Beijing. Meanwhile, China was already ahead of us in Africa. Meanwhile Russia, desperate under Putin to regain former glory, puffs up about the end of US dominance, and wants to lead the world, meddling in everyone's elections, but isn't likely to succeed against China. And all the while India grows in power, population, and influence daily. The East will lead the global economy now, and we'll have to accept what we're told on other global issues. We do still control the seas, but China is anxious to change that, especially in the South China Sea, and Trump wants to cut spending (except for building new toys) and have other countries "do their share," which will also spell the end of US trade going freely anywhere it wants. We will no longer be able to set the rules. That's what's ALREADY happened . . . in 150 days. Oh, and that we're laughing stock.
