Sony Walkman: they actually gave those to a few tweenies for the device's thirtieth a few years back, and some of the kids failed to work out that they could take the tape out and turn it over.

There's something else involving tapes I was forgetting: loading computer games from them onto an 8 bit micro. (Though I suspect da yoof would find the fact that these devices used to have their operating systems on a ROM chip and no built in storage memory at all more puzzling still...)

I have a wood stove and a well with a pump. Unless you're talking hand pumped, not electric. Roller skates with the key to adjust it.

Bottle/can openers to open pop/soda. 5¢ Cokes from vending machines you had to swing the big silver handle on. 1¢ gumball machines. Kids having a paper route. Watching Sputnik fly over.
