ORIGINAL: servantforuse That article proves my point. Saying this was a dysfunctional family is being kind. It started with the so called dad. As usual, this could go 40 pages back and forth. I never said he was father of the year, many leaders/activists/etc. have short changed their families. It is hard for a single person to make strides in the world, I can't imagine what it is like for someone with a large family. It appears he short changed his children when they were younger, and he attempted to become closer to them when they were older. You can continue to repeat the same mantra over and over. I am impressed that he attempted to make amends, for his short comings as a father, during the last years of his life. Despite "how you feel", this will not ruin his contributions to society or his legacy. That is what counts to me. RIP Dick
