I love a good game of 20 questions but ... let's think for a moment.  First ask yourself  ... "self, how old am I?" ... the proceed to the really important trigger question ... "What have I done with my life".  Once you've done those two, just start writing what you have learned, taught, experienced.  It's not that hard.  I get nervous when someone tells me they don't have anything to say about themselve.  I have to wonder what rock they have been living under to have nothing to say for themselves.

Frankly, "Tell me about yourself" is a lousy question.  Do you want to know what I look like, what my favorite color is, what I want in a Domme, what BDSM/vanilla activities get my motor revving?  Do I spend a half hour outlining in meticulous detail what I do and my favorite things without looking like an egotist at the same time?

When you ask that question, you don't really want to know EVERYTHING.  You want to know specific things--am I a weirdo/stalker/obsessive sort?  Is there a spark between us?  Am I your submissive knight in shining armor?  Why was I attracted to your profile?  Those are things better answered in the give and take of emails/phone conversations than a question which will most likely wind up with

Bingo.  I could never understand the "I don't know what to say" gambit.  Have they lived "x" years in a total vacuum?  They don't have experiences, thoughts, feelings, hobbies, likes or dislikes, family or pets or jobs?  Cripes.  If someone doesn't know what to tell me about himself, I'm moving on to the next guy (there are always plenty anyway!), because I want someone who HAS some life experience, and who can hold a reasonable conversation.

It also worries me if someone can not think of something to discuss.  If you can not talk about yourself, something you should be intimately familiar with, how can you hold an interesting conversation with me if we go out to dinner?

LMAO...undergroundsea....your eccentric. I do that too.... *frowns* I get pretty goofy and I become a chuckler so I got to be careful. I also got to be careful not to discuss a topic which most women find boring as hell. DONT TALK ABOUT PHYSICS HOMEWORK! lol.

I think most women, as a general rule, find science and technology boring which rules out your ham radio, lol.

I would LOVE it if someone wanted to discuss physics homework, or chemistry... or calculus...

But NOOOOOOOOooooooo... all I get is "how will you punish me?  how do you make people bleed?"

Um... I won't and don't worry about it, I won't be doin it to YOU.

And stop sending dick pics unsolicited!  If I want to see your penis, I will be in the same room with it and there will be no doubt in your mind.

Sheesh.  Sorry.  /rantOFF

yes, it is a terribly open ended question, but i ask it because i like to see what a potential comes up with.  the subjects they choose to write about are often very telling.  especially if they talk about the way they relate to this or that thing in my profile.  or they talk only about their fetishes and kinks.

and while i know that many subs don't want to seem egotistical or have hard time with the idea of being the center of attention, as answering this kind of question does, it is a useful tool when properly employed.  yes, i will ask more pointed questions if i have what to go on.  but i don't often have enough information to work with between a sparce profile or an intro letter that lacks the info i want/need.
