Mustardseed -> RE: How do you feel about BLOOD? (3/1/2007 8:57:52 PM)

I never really had that much of an opinion on blood play one way or the other until I met my current partner. I've heard that my area has one of the highest concentrations of bloodthirsty players, but ... well, okay. Whatever. I don't faint at the sight of blood, but I don't drool over it either. I've given blood with no ill effects, and I don't bleed for very long. The way my Daddy eroticises blood letting and taking made me curious enough to consider and test long enough to agree to both regular fluid and blood bonding. If he gets cut or scraped, he'll hold the wounded part out to me to suck upon. When he cuts me or pokes me with needles, he'll usually lick up the blood. I've grown fascinated in watching beads of blood roll down my skin. I've come to anticipate how warm he feels when he leads forward to lap at my chest. At best, it feels like communion -- like I'm an offering. Sometimes I wonder how close I am to understanding how fertility or abundance goddesses feel during worship. We recently attended a workshop on ritualized bloodplay, and I felt as though I'd come home. Between tastings, practice and one or two unspiring scenes (roleplay and bloodplay don't seem to mix well for me); simple ritual seemed to be a way to honor what was going on. No silliness, no hiding behind a script ... just careful, heartfelt talk and timing. As to vampires, I've seen books and articles on "psychic vampires," "emotional vampires," "energy vampires" and the like. Usually such articles point to people who can make you feel drained just by being near them, usually people who the protagonist of the article needs or tries to get away from. Some of the writings on the subject are mainly pop-psychology, some are new-age or paranormal works. I imagine that someone who suffers from insomnia, someone who is on a manic or hyper swing and wants to be brought back to baseline, or just someone who ended up with more stimulant in their system than either healthy or necessary might be willing to consent to help from someone with these types of vampiric tendencies just so they can calm the heck down. I've never heard of it happening pleasantly, though.
