Lindsey Graham dies after 'brief and sudden illness
Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, a close ally of US President Donald Trump, has died at the age of 71.
He died on Saturday evening following a "brief and sudden illness", according to his office.
Elected to the Senate in 2002, the South Carolina politician was one of Washington's most influential voices on foreign policy.
The first time I read that my brain thought it was Mitch McConnel - he hasn't been seen in 4 weeks, and the rumour mill, some, say he's passed away. McConnell, 84, has not been seen in public since he was admitted to hospital in the Washington area on 14 June. Nearly a month later, the Kentucky Republican’s office has released only sparse updates, saying he is “continuing to improve” and remains engaged with Senate business, while refusing to disclose the nature of his illness or explain why he remains hospitalised. “I think he’s dead,” opined Malcolm Nance, a career counter-terrorism intelligence officer, in an interview with Amy McGrath, who lost to McConnell in the 2020 election, on the Truth in the Barrel podcast. “It’s very clear. Emergency dispatch audio obtained by media outlets indicates that first responders were sent to his home following reports of an unconscious person and that CPR was under way.
Tis amazing that no update has been given on whether he is alive or a ghost. I know with that one a special election needs to be called which is why they refuse to give updates. This isnt the first stories I read where I find out some politicians are dead or end of life care in hospice.
Its staggering that these Politicians are allowed to run in the first place let alone cling onto power for self interests. Your average 60-90 year does not represent the people or the will of the political climate. In general these politicians, Dems included, do not represent the next generations and serve self interests and shadowy opaque groups who give them suitcases of cash.
