You'd think with all the old bugs being currently manufactured in places like Mexico or Brazil, you'd be able to find an oil pan rather quickly, without having to resort to fabricating your own.

Last air-cooled bug rolled off the line in Mexico City in 2000. VAG Brazil was out even before then.

The problem lines in the details: the engine isn't a standard 1600 or even 2L - it's a stroked 2.2L with lengthened arms... which means that only the non-moving parts are stock and "easily" available. By easily, I mean taking less than a week to arrive.

And VAGCOM has also told me that I have reset my OBD2 circuit a total of 999 times on the other Bug.

I miss air-cooled engines... <sigh>

True, but it doesn't seem real because it could be photoshopped.

I saw A Man Called Horse when I was 12 and cringed when it came to those scenes. It gave me nightmares for a few days afterwards.
