He's had a cyst on his butt for a while, and it's been monitored by his vet. Within the past couple of weeks though, he's developed some sort of lump on his knee (on the same side as the cyst) which is NOT a cyst. He's scheduled for surgery this coming Monday to remove the suspicious lump from his knee. Ironically, yesterday the cyst burst open, leaving quite a mess. He went to the vet yesterday because of the burst cyst, was given some oral antibiotics (which he's refusing to take willingly), and will now have this cyst removed as well.

I was supposed to meet the rest of my family for the traditional Christmas mini-vacation at Walt Disney World, but have had to back out to keep a watch over the dog (though, I am taking a few hours today to meet up with them for the dinner and show; just not spending nights there), to make sure the open cyst stays relatively clean. Besides, with an open sore and the medication, his usual "doggie resort" wouldn't have accepted him, and it was too late to book him into a boarding hospital for me to keep with the family's schedule.

Just another day... :-)

Status: offline 		Thanks folks for the kind thoughts. I'll be fine... the dog will be fine. I'm definitely NOT missing the nights being spent by the rest of the family in the vacation rental. I'll be there for the dinner and the show, but there'll be no tears shed when I leave to return home.

My favorite quirk lately (NOT!) is when I reply to someone without using the quote back feature. After I post, I check and notice that my response is directly underneath the post I responded to. After several minutes, my post is still directly under the post it's associated with, so I leave thinking all is well. I'll come back ten minutes later or so, and notice that there's a whole new topic going on that wasn't there before. Checking things, I now find out there's like seven or eight posts between the one I was responding to and my response! >:-(

That makes it kind of difficult to follow thoughts when other responses don't show up until ten or fifteen minutes later. I don't know what the problem is as I've been thinking that I'm logged directly into the CC site. But it's looking like there's a caching server somewhere between my 5MB/sec DSL connection and CC, which is muddying up my ability to stay on top of topics here.

Sorry about the mini-rant. I don't know how to get around this situation, but until I can, I guess I'll have to do the quote back feature... which I know annoys some people. Sorry about that too.
