ORIGINAL: sappatoti Unlike when NYC lost power a few years ago, people, at least around here, are going about their normal lives. Yeah, we lost A/C for about an hour, but it wasn't long enough to cause any problems. While I'm sure there were people stuck in elevators around the state, and maybe still some are, it's no where near the number that were stuck in the north east a few years back. Besides, after the hurricanes of '04 wiped out much of the state's electrical grid for weeks at a time, we're sort of used to it. Well, as used to it as one can be with the annoyance of losing power for a short time. true.. but thank goodness that was also at a time when the weather was nice. It was really really nice for everyone to be outside and friendly and working together.. No TV, no phones, no contact with the outside world.. Kids outside running around riding their bikes all day long... I loved it... Now if the same thing had happened in August (a la Andrew in '92) would have been quite a different story!!
