I love how my dog who is not supposed to be on the couch (a new thing since I would like to buy a new couch) jumps on the pillow lays down and gives me the cutest puppy dog eyes saying please don't make me get off I am so cute and all I have to do is look at her and say off and she gets down.

I love that the two dogs are slowly but surely getting trained in most everything except for eating icky cat litter.

ooo....i know the answer!!! Spray a LIGHT mist of amonia on the litter. It will not bother the cats but the dogs will stay away...

get a hooded box.. also talk to the vet..SOMETIMES, the reason dogs eat cat poop is cause they need something added to their diet

Thanks Holly de helpful we have tried everything! Cept that!

GT we have a hooded litter the lil dog just climbs in. They have a pretty stable diet and expensive food. I had the vet talk to me about food when one of the dogs was eating her own poo (yuck) some time ago... she needed more fiber, but I have them on innova evo right now and recently started mixing canned food in with the hard food for extra sumpin sumpin. However the cats eat a really rich canned food so I'm thinking that they are attracted to that. I dunno I'm at my wits end with one of the dogs she is the worst when it comes to eating it. And thank you for the advice!!

perhaps also can you put the litterbox on something the cats can jump onto but the dogs can't?

see if the cats will accept a slightly less rich food.. my girls are on kibble (Purina One Indoor formula) with occasional canned treats..

of course I don't have a dog now, but when I did, the vet said that the cats do NOT need a specialized diet unless its for health reasons. If theyre healthy, then Purina is fine./.

Yeah We are just currently using some food we had up from before my cat died we were feeding it to her because she was so thin ( cancer will do that). We have Kayla who is about 18 who drops weight fast if she doesn't eat that. But the other cats eat oh goodness I don't know (they aren't mine I just feed them some kind of hard food and don't actually get canned) Hopefully this won't be a problem soon I don't plan on getting another cat, but for now I guess it's like everything else here just a period of adjustment trying to figure out space issues and boundaries.

i love it when imp is happy again and not sad about the kitty that went on to the great mouse in the sky.... i love it when holly gets all ask msholly on us, and i love that izzi the new puppy is already house trained and does a little bark at the front door when he needs to go out......... and hes gonna be extra tiny at 12 and half weeks he is only 2 pounds aweeee

I love it when the boys and I make plans for al 3 of us to go do things together. I lvoe it even more when *I* was not the one making the plans! Angel invited Fox to church with us today, and then to go play games afterwards! I was so happy, church has always been our thing, just me and Angel, and so his inviting Fox along, even if it is a one time thing, wasa major big step.

If you use a big rubbermaid tote instead of a traditional litterbox the dogs usually can't reach the cat litter because the sides are too high. This also helps keep the litter INSIDE the box and not all over your floor. :)
