I quit smoking in 1982 when there weren't really any options other than "cold turkey". But 2 1/2 weeks after I quit, I was run over by that little old lady & ended up getting morphine shots for the next 2 weeks. When I got home, it was another 2 months til I could get myself to the store. By that time, the worst of the withdrawal was over. I don't recommend this as a stop smoking method, but it worked for me.

One other thing that did work for me was not substituting anything at all when I wanted a cigarette, I would say, "I want a cigarette. I don't want chocolate cake." My friends, God bless them, would argue with me when I would tell them I wanted a cigarette. I wasn't going to smoke one, but I surely did want one!! Acknowledging the craving for what it was really helped me a lot.

Actually that is close to what I think would be an ideal way to get past withdrawal. Self induced Coma.
Wake up when its over. LOL

At least Im not substuiting bad food, since I prefer to eat healthy, actually I havent been to the hungry stage even.

As much as Im kevetching about it Im doing pretty damn good. I had a 2 month methodical plan and I think I owe alot of it to that.

You just keep pluggin away at it. I know I'm not the only one here who's pullin for you to make it! I spent a week with my daughter who smokes in her home & it was fairly disgusting. I really didn't notice that sort of thing when I was smoking, but now it's awful to me. At least this time I didn't wash all my clothes before I left, since the last time I did that I had to re-wash them when I got home anyway. You'll be amazed at the difference it makes in your life!

Believe me I am. Having severe anxiety disorder has mostly been the reason I never did a full quit. But I planned way head and hell the xanax I take comes in handy, emotional wise. Its also the first time I myself wanted to quit for health reasons, I'vve slid by 2 years after my dads death which was due to mutiple smoking diseases.

Worst problem I have it going in the kitchen, that window is where I smoked. Isnt helping the domestic chores tho I did bang out some dishes and did a couple of delicate loads of laundry.

:-( I so hate being sick and not having someone to curl up with lol. I am not like some who like to be left alone when they are sick. I need to cuddle or curl up next to someone. Sighs at least I have my cats. Except one thing lol cats have a mind of their own. They don't like to be forced to curl up it HAS to be their idea lol. Especially with my two.

Even a simple would you get me some __________, Gets a are you kidding me, your legs still work look or gesture..

This is after waiting hand and foot with the crap the adult (sister) gave me.

Most I got was dont overdo anything, but if you can will you wash my delicates.

Next time someone gets sick Im going on strike.

yeah she is most definetly a me me person. I knew that moving in with her. I cant bitch to much because she doesnt make me pay any rent. But then again she is the epitomy of a spinster. Never married, hardly dated, small apt with 2 cats....well and now me her personal gopher LOL

Okay I HAVE to back off sis right now. I was feeding the cats when she came in and when I got back to my chair there was a bag from Penhaligonson's that had Elizabethian Rose scent and talc powder.
She does have a good side.

Tho it was adressed from buckethead the other cat that hates my very presence for some reason totally unknown. Since we are rivals. LOL

Hate that i just got my third strike with the company for which i work. i'm very angry at myself, rather tired, somewhat shaky with adrenalin, and feeling as if i let my lady down. ~sighs~ She says i haven't, but... Dunno. Put it out there to the universe, please, that i need a good job and fast in St. Petersburg, FL.

~smiles~ i'm trying. She's just so different. She's a lot more forgiving of me than i am, that's for sure. And i will say, i'm looking forward to being with her all the time, even if this is what it took to get me there.

I hate the fact that business has doubled 2 or three times for me in the last week or so. Granted, it is nice that my attention to detail is finally being noticed, but demmit, being swamped is NOT my way of showing gratitude. Not to mention that I am scraping the bottom of the proverbial bucket for supplies until the next order comes in. Remind me exactly why I said I would start 15 projects and try to have them done by christmas....

I HATE that my father is lying in bed dying and there's not a damn thing I can do to help him, ease his pain...... not one F'ing thing!!! I think I'm at the anger stage of this whole death thing... so I suppose I should just acknowledge it and try not to fight it and it will pass, but I'm telling all of you.... I want to stick my head out the window and scream at the top of my lungs. So, if any of you are in northern Cali and here some wild woman scream, it's just me.
