Thank you Holly..it is hard but I am happy I can do this for her, before it gets much worse...GT and I talked about it a couple of weeks back and she was kind enough to listen as I came to the painful conclusion. Something I have been trying to keep blinders on for a while now. I watched her fall yesterday getting to her feet in the house and..I can't make her suffer if I have a means to prevent that. She was 5 when I got her in 1998, Heart worm treated but damage was done to the heart, and is blind, mostly deaf, arthritic and scared of the world (badly abused before we got her) and has never gotten over her fear of being petted by a hand above her, a hand offering treats or food or the bathroom. She nearly has a heart attack if you try and take her into the bathroom. 16 years has been a long and well lived if sometimes painful life for her..and she has been a good friend. I can't do anything kinder for her. poenkitten
