luscious, no they don't become diabetic from eating fruits and veggies, But even natural sugars w/ill raise your blood sugar I am told. Now, it wouldn't raise it as high as junk foods or stuff, but it will raise it, or again so I am told. I have been told to keep fruit in moderation, and I've been told by some fruit is harmless eat as much as you want. I don't want to think I am doing a healthy thing by eating 4 apples a day, and find out it's raising my sugar levels more than what is acceptable. was my point. I can and have in the past had watermellon every day, bell peppers 3 times a day, Sometimes apples twice a day, if they were in the house. quote:

ORIGINAL: YourhandMyAss Katy my fear is that since I am pre diabetic and very close to becoming actually diabetic, is that I'll do things I think are healthy like eating fruit 3 or 4 times a day and bell peppers, and other crunchy nummy things like it everyday and having low fat yogurt everyday and stuff, that I will actually be doing myself more harm than good either because it has sky rocketed my sugar through the roof, or that much fruit is bad for a pre/ almost diabetic. I've tried taking health classes and they help a little bit, but bylarge and by far they suck more than they don't, and You can't get a consult with a nutritionist or be assigned a nutritionist case manager, If your sole need is for weight loss. Fortunatly since I am pre diabetic and almost full blown, I may qualify for sessons with a nutritionist and maybe even a case manager. quote:
ORIGINAL: KatyLied I think that as long as you exercise, eat sensibly and maintain a healthly lifestyle, you are doing the best you can with what you have. But, yeah, I'd love to be a size 10 again.... People do not become diabetic from eating fruit and crunchy nummy vegetables. Its about how many calories you eat a day that is being turned into simple sugars. The crunchy fruits and veggies have fiber and nutients. Theu are called complex carcohydrates. Its the processed simple sugars and transfats like white bread sweets that are processed, mashed potatoes and calorie laden food. But if you ate chicken, fish and lean meats. Cut out all white flour and processed sweets and ate as much fruits and vegetables as your heart desires, You wsould bring you blood sugar down. I can garantee. I think I'll go grab an apple..bye
