Well, sassy, according to the locals here....every cold place in the country! Well, that and all the non-licensed, suspended or drunk illegals......I can say that with first hand knowledge....our officers stop them all the time! And it's really sorta scary driving on the expressways, seeing some huge hulk of a vehicle with what appears to be NO driver...then you get past them, FINALLY!, and it's a little old lady who is peeking between the dash and the top of the steering wheel cuz she's so short!!!!!! There oughta be some sort of height restriction on those cars.....you know, like the real bumper cars!
I drove for almost 7 years in Chicago, and was NEVER so scared of other drivers as I am here! At least in Chicago, we can multi-task while driving......I don't know how many times I saw people doing the "look Ma! No hands" style of driving......here, it's all they can do to open the car door and get in at the same time!
Okay I have to take exception to the highlighted area. While I no longer drive, I was an excellant driver despite having to use the area avialable between the steering well, but I was also always aware by using side mirrors, and rear mirrors. I was never in an accident caused by me. Depending on the car, I would try and push the seat as far forward as I could, then use a pillow if necessary to get me over the wheel height, I love adjustable wheels.
but if I padded under my butt, it would take the feet work of driving beyond my reach.

Some short people can actually drive safely, If I bothered to get my license back I still could despite on the uphill side of 50. And I can go from a perfect lil miata which is a perfect fit to a huge oversized truck.
Sage who can figure about any situation to make it safe....or reach....and yes for oversided struck I do need a step ladder unless someone helps me in or there is something I can reach to pull myself up LOL
So Soul wanna have a car race, bet I could get to the finish first ROFL Since not only can I drive but every so oftern used to dirt track race. hehehehe Ex was pissed that I had never ran into anyone and generally stayed in at least the top 5 and my payout would be more than his. (gads I loved that kinda payback to the asshole)
edited to add: yes I do realize elders can be a road hazards, but some are sharp as knives while others are a road hazzard...just to clarify I was speaking mostly about the short factor.
I also hate indiot drivers that are road hazzard, like the ones it so much a hurry they damn near hit the corner of your car while changing lanes, then change lanes again, only to find in traffic you usually end up ahead of them in a faster lane ROFL
