holly, sorry to hear about LO, it's no fun when they're sick. Mr. Smarties has been sick here and playing Mr. Grumpy Pants because of it. Today, Lumus has called in sick for the first time in over a year. He's passed out on the couch now, got up from bed  a little while ago from the pain in his throat.   I can't handle it when someone I love is so sick.......

Rain...the most common cause for a sore throat is the post nasal drip (lots of fun). I swear by pineapple juice for this. If the symptoms persist after a few hours of sipping the juice, i call the doctor for an abt.

I am sorry you are going through this. A sick hubby and little one are no fun

Status: offline 		Meh, the Snotty One (Mr. Smarties) is going to the doctor if he doesn't clear up by Friday. At least you're finding the snot on your sleeve - I'm finding it on the furniture.   As for Lumus, we'll see how he's doing later. He says that when he's this sick, a lot of sleep will burn it out for him. All he's done is sleep since he came home from work yesterday....

Use the nose sucker Rain.  Suck lots and suck often, especially after bath-time.  (Also known as a nasal asperaitor)  Also, put a humdifier (cool-mist ONLY) in his room.  You can also get some of that nasal spray that is just a bit of saline solution, and spray that up his nose before using the nose sucker and it will help losen all of that.  Children's cough/cold syrup with "guaifenesin" in it is good as well.  If it is a cold virus, there is nothing you can really do except treat the symptoms and make sure that it does not morph into something worse.  ~ Can you tell that I just went through this doctor's conversation a few days ago?  LOL
