I don't know much about opera, alas.

This is on the radio - the public radio station.  Between acts they even explain what is happening in the story.  Opera is great drama.  The staging is often very magnificant.  The music is really good, too.  It helps tell the story.

When i was growing up my mother would bake pies on Saturday afternoon while listening to the Metropolitan opera.

The Metropolitan Opera has Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen on this afternoon.

Sometimes i call opera an "uproar".

For an ol' country boy I like a little high tone music from time to time, As a matter of fact we have two nice fm receivers for that purpose ,one happens to be in the barn as my mare Starr is a classy lady herself smile..

*sigh* in an age where any under fed strumpet can flirt her way into a record deal, the insane training opera singers go through goes greatly unappriciated.
but not totally, i sappose, Amy Lee was trained in opera, and Pat Benatar... lol, but Pomme's too young to know who that is.

For those of you who are taking college classes i recommend a Humanities class.  You get a quick overview of art, music, literature and culture.  Also there are Music Appreciation classes.  Even if your choice of entertainment is more current, it's a good idea to have at least a slight acquaintance with what others are talking about.

Fluffy more of us need to act like humans and maybe a humanities class would do some of us a lot of good or better still to invent a camera that takes snaps of our souls, then we can see what kind of creatures we are dealing with..the human form is only one of Gods creatures that are deceitful and turns on their own for no reasons..Some times I wonder what the human race will be like in a 100years or so or will there be one..B

An interesting thought, boss.

Today is one of those days when i can think about others and then suddenly get very self centered.  Sometimes i want to do everything to make life better for future generations and then all i care about is what is happening to me.  It's very easy for me to get depressed today.

let me know when you get that camera, bounty, i've got a number of people i'd love to see their souls.

i want a camera too, that will tell me why people are the way they are. what 'first instance' made them wary, cautious, paranoid, sad, determinedly happy, cynical, mute, gregarious.....

i think if we knew that as well, it might give more people the chance to be empathetic. bullies are generally not born bullies, "cowards" are often made that way, etc

btw, some special flourless brownies with a touch of chili and cinnamon to go with your coffee, bounty. cinnamon is good to help regulate your bsl's and chili to speed up your metabolism. and it's dark chocolate of course. better for you *solemn nodnod*

(sets aside a hot pink plate with a large brownie heart on it, with home made vanilla ice cream still flecked with the vanilla. if you share it, sweetest fluffy, there are no calories!)

Well girl thats a natural thing, our feeling about others seems to be put on our back burner as our selfness comes to the top, in todays world its all about ME ME and sorry to say I am as guilty as the rest if not more so..I find myself on occasions asking my self have I done enough for others and all ways finding my self lacking ..I give to Charity's. I spend time with those that need cheering up and do alot anonymous for I am not one to seek adulations and rewards..WE need to as patrons of Bounty's place find a charity and work to make things better, collect cans save change and at the end of the year make that donation that will help..just this ol' master 3 cents worth..B

Hey fluffy,
I like Opera - sometimes.  Depends on the singer and the piece.  I do love the flower duet though.  It's just amazing.  I wish it wasn't a car commercial though.

Well thank you kitten very much,I am on a holistic kick trying to see if I can control my high blood pressure and diabetes using natural herbs, It seems to be working on a small level, garlic is good for HBP, so I have blew the dust off my metaphysical books and seeking a cure for all including the black hearts and souls smile..
