"What Has Made My Eyes Open Today?"

The realization that a few of the people on this forum are not the kind of people I would like to be friends with here or outside of this little box in front of me. I thought I knew them. I thought that they were good and caring people. I thought wrong. Shame on me. I wouldn't give up my seat if you were standing there on two crutches. I would, however suggest a good surgeon to pull your heads out of your insensitive asses. That I would do for you. If you think I am talking about you, then chances are you would be right. Just think about how you have posted in the past 24 hours. That would be your first clue.

What?!?!?!  Just because I think giving Rhino Rump ex-lax infused brownies would be fitting?

Since you posted in reply to my last post, are you including me in this?  If so I would like a clarification on what I may have transgressed.

Well, I think that is the meanest thing that I have written in the last 24 hours.  I got a mod note for calling someone an assoholic a couple weeks ago and post deleted. . . . so it is not like I am not being watched.

Some of the things I have read in the past 24 hrs.

I don't even know if I would say they rolled, I think they more went downcast in disappointment.

This is Darcy

First of all, a big personal hug to MoGa, as I have an understanding as to what she is referring to, and it pertains to what has made my eyes roll today too.

Human nature has surfaced once again in the wake of a loss, and once again it's not pretty. There are decent people out there, we know some of them personally  but there are also those who are quick to comment and dance on graves. The world wide interweb being what it is, one must always take care to consider that anybody may read what you post, and one must consider the impact and the consequences. A stray comment may very well reveal the ugliness behind the pretty, painted facade that you wear in your day to day postings, but that one comment is all that is needed to reveal the ugly, prejudiced reality of who you are.

It's easy to take the easy shot, the obvious put down, the assumed moral high ground, but without the benefit of a reasoned argument and empirical proof behind it you just end up looking stupid. As a result our friends list will be culled appropriately in light of some of the things that have made my eyes roll here today, because frankly we expected better of some of you and are very disappointed.

Not that those who are too callous to care will give a shit.

So very well stated.  I wish I had the eloquence that you do, but I am not that good with words.

I have seen many that I otherwise admired show a side I didn't expect.

I feel that everyone has a right to their opinion, myself included..but I also feel that decency is a huge attribute and one that I look for in those I surround myself with.

I know that most of you don't know me, though I have been around here a long time.  I also figure most if any will not care what I think one way or another.  I just felt the need to say what I have, for myself.

MoGa, Darcy, and sleazybutterfly.....
i have no idea what anyone of you are referring to... Perhaps it's because i'm too self centered or perhaps it's because when i see train wreck threads happening i stop reading them. i'm sorry you all were disappointed and i'm sorry people let you down. i do think what you all have said is a good reminder to us all.
For what ever it's worth,
Kali
