Hmmm. They were founding members of the Warsaw Pact, but then so were the Czechoslovak Republic, the German Democratic Republic and the U.S.S.R. But is that the direction you're going, or something else? In WWII, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Romania first allied with Germany, then later with the Soviet Union (not sure about Albania). Or...they all freed themselves with the Ottoman Turks? The Revolutions of 1989, throwing off communist rule? But then, that includes East Germany and Czechoslovakia. Former Warsaw Pact members who now belong to NATO? But then, that list would be longer. A quandary.
