Phoenix.....so happy to hear u found ur baby!

I hate that this AM we had a patient in full arrest and while I was doing compressions
someone gave my Preceptor a DNR form and she told me to stop.....damn this was in his home
and his wife of 35 years and daughter were in the next room....damn. I hate that while sitting w/them
I had to leave when they broke down hugging and crying (yes my crew was with
them when I left) I just couldn't keep it together:(

Thanks Fluffy....I just felt so badly for the family because
it happened in their home and the body had to stay on the
floor in a foyer until the ME got there and of course they
sat with him. As I sat w/ the wife taking the wires and leads
off him she was telling me about a new chair she bought for
him that was being delivered tomorrow:(

that has to be one of the hardest parts of your job. I'm sure the family appreciates the kindness and dignity that you treated them and their loved one with.

Sometimes, all somebody wants is someone else to talk to, not for them to offer advice or condolences, but just to be there, as they begin to grieve.

I hate it when my 14 year old puppy poops on the area rug just next to my side of the bed at 2am.

I hate it when the scraping of her nails on the wood floor wakes me up.

I hate it when I stand up to investigate what that gosh-awful-smell is and realize I've just stepped in it!

I hate it when I can't fall back asleep.

I hate it when my once spry and acrobatic puppy has a hard time standing up.

I hate it when I'm sitting in my room with Kali and DB, and He knocks over Kali's ice water, breaks the glass, then steps in the water and soaks His sock.

But what I really hate is that, as I was cleaning up the mess with my back to Him, I hear Him complain about His soppy foot and sock, and say out loud, "You really shouldn't whine about a wet foot, you know. You only stepped in cold water, you could've stepped on the broken glass. Think of it as sensation play rather than the alternative knife or pain play."

As I looked up, Kali had a

look on her face. I said, "What?.... Oh no, is something bad about to happen to me?" Before I could turn around, He slapped me across the bootyious maximus quite soundly.

I suppose that thought wasn't actually supposed to come out of my mouth.

(I blame Kali.) *nods*

I hate it when I get a really bad song stuck in my head. The Bob and Tom Show have been playing a new Smoky Robinson song for about a week now, "Love Bath" OMG, who told him he should put this piece of shit on tape??

i used to LOVE those (once i stopped hating them!). A long drive became fun when i saw it as "me" time.Pack your favorite tunes and sing at the top of your lungs. Go to the library and get a few books on tape. Enjoy the silence and do some deep thinking...

Holl - the drive there will probably have my work mate and I discussing our plan and thoughts for the meeting ahead and coming up with some strategies if it starts going pear-shaped, the drive back whoever will see me singing my favourite songs very loudly and very badly

Hiltie - I am pretty sure we will be in the heart of bogan territory, I may wear some uggies to fit in

I dislike it that I need to get my tax papers sorted out before saturday or else will be postponing the appointment for the third week in a row (I hate doing my tax)
