Do you? It really didn't come across that way, Rule. Too many of us here have a daily struggle with bodies that betray us-- you just came across as judgemental and trifling.

I admit Mom is on the phone, dealing with people who has their heads up their asses.

I admit that I am getting out of Dodge...with bulletproof vase on..and hiding the ammo to the guns.

I admit I am in hiding..and the computer as well...

Well, I wasn't. I was encouraging when I said ' endure' and I offered my best advice. I am appalled that me being supportive is perceived as being the opposite.

However, I do not consider being bipolar a disorder. Depending on the person, it may be a natural condition. It often sucks, yes, but polar bears and grizzlies may say the same thing about hibernation.

You are entitled to your considerations and opinions.

There are "natural" conditions like congenital heart defects which are "natural" to the person born with them because they didn't "acquire" them like a new pair of shoes or "catch" them like the measels.

Does bipolar disorder suck? Yes, it fucking sucks. My precious teenaged son has it and it has sucked for the past 6 years that he was diagnosed with it. He has received treatment and continues to do so. What would have sucked more is if he would have been successful at a suicide attempt at age 8 years. So, anyone who sees this as some sort of "cuteness" can kiss my ass.

Seems to me, that at age 9 years, someone should have been helping you out more than you have mentioned that they did.

That has nothing whatsoever to do with me. You are the one who owns your perceptions. So if anyone is (perceiving) wrong here, it is you. Not so?

Sorry, Rule. We DO endure, every day of our lives. Why don't you try that line in the next Type 1 diabetc you meet, or the person in dialysis?

Geeziss, if that's your best...

Appalled, huh? Well, you are the owner of your feelings, enjoy them.

So, is it possible that it is a language issue rather than a philosophical issue, Rule??  Because I perceived it as your telling me that if I had a good dom he could make my depression go away.  And we all know that is not possible.  I have lived with this & I have endured for as long as I remember being alive.  Without the medications I would have taken my own life years ago.  Before the meds, I made several incomplete suicide attempts.  Since starting meds in 1987, I have not attempted suicide even once.  For me this is a good thing.

There is depression and there is depression. Causes differ biochemically, mentally. Some are diseases, or kind of. Others are natural phenomena.

Congenital heart defects may be caused by deleterious mutations. It is inappropriate to compare diseases caused by deleterious mutations to depressions or bipolarity that may very well exactly as nature intended them to be.

It is you that insist that all of them are diseases. Not me.

I cannot help you there.

Please do not put words in my mouth. You wrong me when you do that. I have nowhere said that being depressed is cute. In fact you owe me an apology, a most humble apology.

I did not want my relatives to know that they were living with a corpse, that I had indeed "died", so I kept my condition secret. Of course inevitably people remarked that I was crazy - and right they were.
