I admit YAY! DC!

I admit I was able to complete my electric project with no damage to anything (or anyone) involved.
I admit that I'm glad to have done it since I've always been seriously afraid of house fires and this was scaring me.
I admit I have NO idea where that fear comes from.
I admit I'm not afraid of open fires, gas cooking stoves, etc. Just house fires.

I admit I'm dropping "admits."

In 1958, I was in 2nd grade in Chicago. I do NOT remember the event, but I remember hearing about it. From wikipedia....

The Our Lady of the Angels School Fire broke out shortly before classes were to be dismissed on December 1, 1958, at the foot of a stairway in the Our Lady of the Angels School in Chicago, Illinois. The elementary school was operated by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago. A total of 92 pupils and 3 nuns lost their lives when smoke, heat, and fire cut off their normal means of escape through corridors and stairways. Many were killed when they jumped from second-floor windows (which were as high as a third floor would be on level ground). Another 100 were seriously injured.

The disaster was the lead headline story in American, Canadian, and European newspapers. Pope John XXIII sent his condolences from the Vatican in Rome. The severity of the fire shocked the nation and surprised educational administrators of both public and private schools. The disaster led to major improvements in standards for school design and fire safety codes.

I admit that seems a pretty good reason to be afraid of being trapped in a building fire.

I admit meeting him in a public place would not be a good thing. Neither of us would have been able to say the things we wanted/needed to say.

I admit I did give in to my impulse to run straight into his arms, crying like a baby, and he met me with arms wide open before he even got the door closed behind him and held me until I stopped.

I admit.... I REALLY NEEDED THAT!

I admit there was a long scary silence after I stopped crying.

I admit we agreed to disagree on some things, we agreed to him needing some "space" to get past his anger toward me, and we agreed he wasn't allowed complete space.

I admit his phone was blowing up while he was here and I was getting upset about it and for the first time ever, he acted like he understood my mistrust and let me look through his phone!

I admit there was some

during.

I admit before he walked out the door we had a conversation that went something like this:
Me: Sooooo DO you still love me?
Him: Right now? I'm torn between loving you and wanting to strangle you.
Me: You say the sweetest things. *lifting my head to expose my neck*
Him: *kiss on top of the head*
Me: So we're going to be ok? I wasn't playing. I want all of the promises you made. I want what we had.
Him: You should get it all too, once you give me time to calm down.

I admit the phone blowing up was all military people and immediately after he left I worried about him getting deployed again, and when I texted to ask him he replied right away (which was great) but his reply was "shouldnt" (that was NOT a NO dammit)

I admit I compromised a little, but I knew I would have to. After all, how can you force someone that is angry with you to be nice and loving...you cant.

I admit that we must do one of the HARDEST things we (as a group) have ever done.
I admit we all told Sophie to "do what you have to do," and variations of that.
I admit that at first I quoted DRH's "no comment" and didn't add anything.

I admit that I "imploded" it.
I admit that I wish Sophie had taken a different tack.
I admit that she didn't.

I admit that we ALL need to be open about our disagreement and then help her in her next step.

I admit that sometimes one needs to take a step backward before the step forward can be taken.

C'mon all - your "No comments" come across as critical and disapproving (which I agree with) BUT they also come across as closing Sophie out of our support.

I admit that THIS is the time to rally and offer our suppport.

Sometimes good intentions need to be rewarded, not disparaged.

Thank you, Lance.

I admit things didn't go near the way I thought they would.

I admit it's the first time he's accepted responsibility. In the past he always dismissed our fights with "it's fine", blaming me, or complete avoidance.

I admit time he contacted me to talk and when talking on the phone wasn't going well, it was his idea to talk face to face. In the past several months him contacting me first has been rare, because he's stayed so angry with me.

I admit he didn't pull away or end the holding me. He wiped my tears away and held me as long as I needed to be - a first.

I admit if it's an act, I'll find out soon enough and not be fooled again, but my heart says I have to take the chance.

I admit our alone time was heavenly.
