I admit that I am happy, just like I was when they got Saddam Hussein. I have lived in countries where people are scared to death to do or say things that go against the tide of an oppressive regime. Americans have no idea what a beautiful country we live in and how proud we should be to live here.

I admit it there is now evidence in black and white for god and all to see that trappedohhotness is in fact a much better person than I am.... as she has never before celebrated a persons death and I have.

I admit it if someone else could ahem innocently fall dead today I would not so much rejoice or celebrate it as much as not shed a tear at all!!

I admit it my paid friend is going to come down and help me finalize my car choices with me.

I admit it I am not looking forward to a meeting we are supposed to be having tomorrow afternoon at work in which we are all supposedly getting bitched out....

I admit it I think my boss may be suicidal or something.

I admit I am beginning a list of things I've learned or started doing without His help.

It does make a difference:

For our troops it is Mission Accomplished - finally... and not just our troops but everyone involved in counter-terrorism around the world.

And for all those whose lives were forever changed on September 11, 2001, there is some closure now.

I admit that I am in no way saying that terrorism is over. I agree that more will follow. But, this is a killing blow to their regime. There may be war tomorrow, but I celebrate and I rejoice tonight. I remember where I was on 9/11 in high school, when I stopped being a kid. I'll never forget it, or tonight. And just for tonight, I celebrate his death.

I admit that living with my Manny, who is an uber international politico (I swear to goodness, he only watches political tv, reads political blogs from all over the world, and is from a very political family overseas), I KNOW that it makes a huge difference. His mother country saw civil war in it for decades, he was almost killed during an uprising, has had many friends who were killed by local terrorists... Taking out the head of a terrorist organization is enormous in the scheme of things. It's ginormous. I've watched it and seen how my Manny's mother land went from a place where we had military checkpoints every 2 miles who had to search our car, Thing 2's car seat, the diaper bag, Thing 1's little back pack... to a place where I could send my children on a flight all by themselves last summer.

Yeah... I know it changes things.

I admit I truly envy those of you who can feel such strong emotion over such a thing. When I heard my reaction was basically to shrug my shoulders and think "meh". I fear I've become so jaded and cynical that it would take a miracle to shake me out of it. I'm a hard, bitter person. Sometimes I wonder if I feel at all, or if I've just convinced myself that I do.
