kitkat - your unit is overstaffed????? sweeeeeet. here it is always a battle. full-time staff are pulling overtime. casual and part-time are working full-time. I got out of that rat race four years ago - and just spending a few hours in the hospital with my son last week, made me so happy I wasn't still there

I'm guessing that kitkat's statement about being overstaffed is what the management is telling them to put them in fear for their jobs.
It's interesting that management has been harping on bad morale when they are the cause of it. I once had a manager like that. I was in her office for a 'conference' and she said "Well, what do you have to say?". I just looked at her and said "I understand you've been a manager of some sort for 25 years" she nodded. I just continued with "Well, it's a shame that you never learned the difference between fear and respect because I'm not afraid of you" I smiled and nodded and let myself out of her office. (no I wasn't fired because they needed me too badly).

I admit daylight savings ends tonight! YAY! Extra hour of sleep!

I admit...are you sure it'll be an hour more sleep???

I admit...I'm only surprised cause we had an hour less sleep a week ago for that reason

I admit I just placed a low bet on 4 office waiting area sofa chairs (5€ each), a simple sitting bench (2€) as well as 2 desk chairs (1€)...and am curious if I'll be winning any of those

I admit I am hesitant to bid on anything until I have my new flat for sure but as they refurnished their office and so offered many things, which would be handy in my current situation, I couldn't resist...even when it'll likely mean to carry it up here to carry it down again soon later

I admit my estate agent removed my flat from immobilienscout24.de and I hope she did so out of confidence that I'll get that flat

I admit I would like to pack up all my stuff on my floor but have so no energy to do anything really, today

I admit my bosses at my current employer are like that and in that instance I'm glad to leave...I keeping laughing on way home way too often about D's I'm-so-important-attitude and dont care that much about details at work anymore...I do what is necessary but that's it...

I admit her problem is that I not only don't fear her...but on top of it she didn't gain my respect either

I admit on my way to view my flat today the topic of the radio channel were "life-wisdom-phrases" we use in daily life or like or just know...

I admit I enjoyed the one from the final caller who said "people who keep putting people down all the time (meaning: who try to make them feel
small) will never be able to grow up themselves".

I wish we were overstaffed. My hospital is a "small trauma centre". We only have 1 combined general surgical/orthopaedic ward consisting of 41-45 patients. Day and evening shift ratios are 1:4-6, night shift ratio 1:7-10. Our acuity levels flactuate dramatically due to the fact we don't have a HDU or step down unit from ICU so it's not unusual for us to have 4-6 ICU level patients on our ward.

We know as a team we work as hard as we can but have spent the last 12 months in particular very stressed due to management singling out my ward for doing anything wrong. We never get positive feedback, only negative. Add those "little meetings" with the high workload = unhappy, frequently sick, stressed nurses.

I admit I just got to have a nice little skype session!

I admit Ruby slept next to my feet all night.

I admit my Mum is cooking me bacon & eggs for breakfast. How spoilt am I?

I admit I spoke with dad about next move and that even IF I don't get my desired flat that I'll only take one where all my cats can live with me again!!!

I admit he said: "Ok...I'll tell curry and spicy they can start packing their bags".

I admit I love the visual of my furrys packing their bags

That was a problem I had when I worked in the lab of a geological/environmental/consulting/engineering firm. The head of the accounting/purchasing department literally did NOT know what the company did.

No idea whatsoever.

Our current Director of Nursing is very honest when she says she "hasn't worked the floor in 25 years." So she was once, a registered nurse, many many moons ago before she defected to the private system to learn to be a manager.

I admit I was so busy & walked so much tonight I honestly feel like crying. My feet & legs are literally throbbing and my feet are swollen. I hate feeling so task orientated.

I admit I'll be awake in 7 hours to do it all again.

I admit I was a bit pissy to Mr A today...

I admit he asked me why I'm doing that and told me why he was silent for quite a few days...

I admit I told'em that it is my job to keep him in line when he pisses off without asking for permission at first

I admit reading his response I'm glad he's still far far away in Qatar cause his reply sounds like as if my arse would be pretty sore now if I'd have given him such a response in person

I admit my mouth is my worst enemy at times

I admit that its april so I can start counting down to the end of tax season! Now I am in Money panic Mode, which sucks, but I knew it would happen. I think it will be awhile before I feel rested. I am only working 75-80 hours a week but dang that is not easy anymore!
