How long do you have to be in the US, married to a US citizen, before you can work? Are you going to transfer your nursing, or are you going to look for work outside the profession? I admit that our provincial government made an announcement this weekend that made me very happy. Starting next year, probably July 1, they are going to start covering the cost of insulin pumps for type 1 diabetics. Of course, you have to exhaust any other funding first, which is okay. We are looking at the Omni-pod for my girl. It is a tubeless pump, which is really cool. It is $6300, with private insurance only covering $3000, so the announcement is very welcome. I admit that we realized today that my girl and one of her classmates, can finally have sleepovers at someone elses house. The other girl is alsl a type 1 diabetic, and the girls are on the same medication regime. Her Mom and I are becoming fast friends, and trust each other with the care of our girls. Both girls have had sleepovers before, but always at their own houses. Neither of us moms trust anyone else. I admit that having a child with diabetes certainly increases the complexity of life.
