Status: offline 		I admit I just issued a challenge to my family via Facebook. Leave the cell phones in pockets or purses and the tablets at home. I am sick of rude people, sitting at a family gathering, ignoring the people they came to visit. If they want to sit and text, play angry birds or read..........they should just stay home

Ello, dear and thanks for the welcome! ^_^
Moonhead: I mostly thrift/secondhand shop for abandoned little(sometimes antique-y) treasures. :)
But, I mean, the novels were one thing, and the art books, the how to manuals, textbooks from school I kept because I liked them, the magazines, the pirated ebooks I had to print and bind, omg... I swear, I hear that bookshelf creaking and crying in the night, lol.
And welcome back, wandersalone! It's pleasant to see such a high count poster still feeling fuzzy about a forum, especially to newbies. :)

I was blessed enough to meet some of them when I had a trip to the USA and Canada a few years ago now and they all gave the most wonderful hugs and will be friends for life :)

Thank you but...........I am not sure it will phase anyone. It's not going to be at our house. I just get annoyed at people, my daughter and my son's SO are two of the worst culprits, constantly checking their phones and texting. Or my .......step sister in law I think.......always sitting and reading.

I expect that shit from kids/teenagers, but not grown adults. You ask them a question and they give you this vague "Huh, what?" look. I figure if they are not going to really 'be there' then they should just stay home.

Status: offline 		I just got back from CVS and watched the pharmacist call a ladies name FIVE FUCKING TIMES, as she sat 5 feet away from him, texting. I went and nudged her with my foot and said he is trying to get you checked out of here maam.

I wish cellphones and especially texting had never been invented. Parents come to pick up kids and are on the phones and act like it is a problem for them to have to call someone back so we can talk to them about something regarding their kid.

If someone came to my house for the holidays and brought out a phone to start texting, they would get put, not even at the kids table, but in the fucking back yard!

I guess I don't need to admit that this is something that chaps my ass huh? lololol

Status: offline 		My irritation started with the step sister in law who would bring a book and sit there, while the rest of us were visiting, on the sofa reading her book. Ignoring everyone. Then she switched to the electronic pads.

THEN....my son and his SO, are terrible about constantly texting. No matter where they are or what they are doing. And now, my daughter. She will sit there like a lump on a pickle, ignoring her kids and expecting everyone else to deal with their shit.......texting away.

It's just fucking RUDE.

I admit I *hatehatehate* texting, except for short bursts like "be there in 5" (or less characters, even better!!).  I get seriously irritated at people who come into the hotel to check in and are so busy texting (or even talking) that they don't even look at me.  I have started to either just stand there and stare at them or start doing busywork until they are done. I'm just waiting for my GM to tell me someone bitched because I didn't check them in IMMEDIATELY!!!

fucking wankers (and I do NOT mean that in a "Good, Like Ash" way!!
