I admit I finally got around to checking out "House of Cards" and am hugely enjoying the first half of the first season.

I admit the latest episode I watched included a tense, testosterone-laden scene in which Underwood confronts a lobbyist in a Capitol conference room.

I admit my first thought in the face of that keenly dramatic D.C. moment was "Man, I really like those blue curtains!"

I admit it, I'm the one who flags profiles when speaking of selling slaves? Other than it being illegal, I want a slave who "wants" to be my slave and not because I paid for her. Am I alone?

I admit I'd buy one too if they would finish the construction on our home, wash the dishes, and put away the clothes.

I admit that I cannot do Florentine style flogging, even though I've admired demos and TRIED. My dyslexia messes me up so badly I can't see any rhythm in my head. So...I told my son that if he'd learn it and show me how, I'd be delighted.

I admit my brand new perfectly matched floggers arrived in the mail yesterday. I was sitting here at the computer when my son comes in the room, floggers in hand (the first time any flogger has ever been in his hand), and says "Hey mom! Watch this." And he proceeded to do Florentine perfectly, hitting the nearby wall for the demo.

I admit I had a jaw dropping moment. Wow. I asked him how in the world had he figured it out and he told me that it was simple. It was the same motions the Tomb Raider chick made when she was fighting with her wooden combat practice staff...and he had watched this movie dozens of times years ago. (Autism sure has some unexpected perks.)

I admit that I wonder if other people pick up things this easily. I don't, when it comes to right and left, left and right, whatever. Aargh. I was going to order off poi balls (correct spelling?) because someone told me that's how to get the rhythm of doing Florentine, but it looks like my adult son is going to have the joy of teaching someone something when it's almost impossible to do so. (Payback, for all the times the shoe was on the other foot, so to speak.)

I admit that all of this reminds me of when I tried to teach my mother how to do simple things on a computer, like write a letter to her other daughter who lives far away. Mom got impatient and hit the enter key a dozen times in a row, rapidly, and instead of sending the letter it wiped out the page. All of her pages of typing went poof. After a dozen different days of this, of her remaining impatient and insisting on "forgetting" and hitting the enter key a dozen times per second, lol, she said forget it. That she prefers to write her letters with pen and ink because at least THAT doesn't get eaten by some damned computer.

I admit that life is complicated. I've had an online (know him in meatspace too, but he lives several states away) Daddy type friend I've turned to (this past half a year or more) when I need to regress to find my happy space. It's not sexual and it's not playacting for fun and games, but both of us are in between relationships and miss the neurochemicals. He likes to Daddy a girl, and I enjoy having a companion, even if just through letters and phone calls, who is sensible, calm, and doesn't freak out on me if I want to color with crayons, make doll clothes, or am caught watching a Disney cartoon movie.

My D/s buttons are broken/effed up. I still get angry and resentful and/or completely worn out over simply considering taking someone into my life in more than a part time, low maintenance, almost zero responsibility way. Having a part time (unofficial) Daddy and some friendly type bottoms for impact play, and going to the occasional play party is what's suitable for me at this time in my life, and it seems so simple and peaceful and easy...but when I try to explain it to anyone it sounds complicated.

I admit I never thought I would ever need to add to my Fet profile "It's Complicated", but it would be an appropriate warning.

I admit...

Cynthia, you're psyching yourself out. I am the most uncoordinated chick walking the face of this planet... Swore up and down that there was no possible way that I could learn Florentine... Now I teach other people to do it. Usually the basics in twenty minutes or less. I've got one gal who was at the impact 101 demo that I did not long back swinging floggers like she was born with them.

It's not in your brain. It's in your muscle memory. Write me on the other site and we'll see if I can teach you via cam.

Yes, if you can spin poi (yep, proper spelling) you can Florentine and if you can Florentine, you can spin poi. It's the same basic thing.

Cynthia's left/right problems remind me of my oldest after her first class at State Fair. She did her pattern absolutely perfect except it was backwards.
For years afterwards, I took a permanent marker and wrote a R and a L on the appropriate thumbs.

I admit it I am just...befuddled as to the motivations of individuals on this site.

I admit it I wish I could say to them all "if you can't be honest with those you are interacting with, at least be honest with yourself."

I admit it I am breathing a big sigh right now.

I admit it I am doing so out of exasperation.

I admit it I just wish everyone was happy but I know each and every one of us is responsible for our own happiness so for some it may never come.

I admit I'm wondering that myself.

I admit I'd forgotten how tiring full-time work can be.

@LadyPact
Yes, please. I'll do that (write you on the other site). Thank you! When I have to watch my son, he has to stand in front of me and of course that means I'm watching a mirror image...and my dyslexia loves the heck out of that.

How I was shown Florentine (after the demo that zoned me out) was by a set of arm and wrist movements, as in a 1, 2, 3, 4 type thing, but even if I sort of get it with my left hand (am still trying to figure out how to get from 4 back to 1), while I'm counting it out all of a sudden I'm all tangled up and my brain is screaming "WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED!"

Um, this happens within the first 30 seconds (30 seconds can be a very long time).

@DesFIP
I'm left handed, and my first grade teacher tried her level best to make me become right handed. (Mostly through screaming at me or pulling me out of my chair by my hair and giving me a shake whenever she caught me writing with my left hand.) I've been trying to get over that deer in the headlights reaction when I've done something "wrong", as well as work through the following Etch A Sketch thing that happens to my brain (all instructions I was following are deleted) but it remains one of my quirks.

When I was in second grade, my house mother in our group home taught me to knit! Bless her, she let me do it "wrong" and didn't tell me because it turned out fine. I totally brain wiped when she wanted me to knit then pearl, knit and pearl. Gawd what a mess up that was. I kept forgetting which knitting needle I was supposed to use (the left or right, lol), which side of the hole I was to stick the tip of the knitting needle into, and which side of whatever knitting needle I was supposed to put the yarn around. (This was after I had learned to do that first stitch/pattern enough to do it blindfolded.)

I'm a one trick pony when it comes to knitting so I switched to Knifty Knitter looms. I've gotten books over the years to teach even idiots how to knit different stitches and to do crochet...and guess what? My brain goes crazy after or by the first sentence and it's like I'm hearing someone talk at me in Klingon. Yes, WTF. I can dyslex up from down (turning p's into d's), letters within words, like the 2nd with the 4th in a five letter word, and when I'm typing it either flows or feels choppy...the choppy feeling makes me dyslex fingers, as in if I'm typing "dog" I might type in kog, dwg, or doh instead. I was a lot better than I am now, but chemo reset my dyslexia to how bad it was when I was little kid. If not worse. It makes typing an interesting experience.

I taught myself (temporarily, as I forgot how as soon as the project was over) how to double knit using a rectangular loom by using a picture by picture guide, but 2/3 way through knitting my son's scarf I reversed the pattern and have no clue how that happened.

I don't know how this computer decided to do a red squiggly underline under a word, my others didn't, but I'm glad it makes me double check what I type so I can fix things before hitting send.
