Status: offline 		I don't think it's quite that bad, but I was amazed to read about the rapid changes in the last decade.  I think I would still love to see it again, this time spending a longer time there.  I did get to see the terra cotta warriors at Xi'an, which were amazing!  Thousands of them, each with a different face.

Status: offline 		  Then there's what they did for that dam..... The Three Gorges Dam. That broke my heart, the area they flooded for it. And to read the reports that it may not even really help them as much as they claim. They flooded some of the most historically significant areas in the world.   And gorgeous too. Displaced millions of people. *sigh*

Status: offline 		That broke my heart too.  The pollution from coal in China is abominable.  When we got to Xi'an, everything including pagodas was covered in black soot.  But, you're right, dream.  It is still beautiful.  Beauty is very important in the Chinese culture.  I also got to see the parts of the Forbidden Palace which were open to the public & the gardens next door.  The Spring Palace had very beautiful landscaping.

Status: offline 		Wow, can you handle all the excitement??  Thomas just gave Chelsea a sleeping pill since she hasn't been able to sleep much since the surgery.  I'm considering going up there to sit in her room with the heater.  I'm pretty much freezing down here & he won't build a fire because he's plenty warm.  Is this self-centeredness also a guy thing???

She may want to let her doc know about the trouble sleeping. I wonder if it heralds anything.

Status: offline 		She refuses to call the doc.  I think that she's simply built a tolerance to the pain meds since she was on percocets for about 3 weeks before the surgery.  She had the problem in the hospital too.  They gave her ativan & dilaudid & she finally slept.

Yeah, I was afraid it was a Thomas thing.  I know that he makes her happy, so I don't say much to him.  Just figure that I can go home tomorrow & I won't have to deal with him till next time they come over.
