Okay. Yeah. I thought about it. I thought about taking the Win for myself. I thought about it long and hard. But ya know what? I finally decided it really wouldn't be worth it.
Yes, I know, the self-content and self-satisfaction of being the only person in the whole world with the Win would be wonderful...for a while.
But then you know what would happen. It would start off slow. First I'd have to appear on Regis and Kelly. Then it would be Leno, Letterman, and...heaven forbid....Connan! I'd be jet-setting from this city to that city all across the country. Screaming crowds at the airports yelling, "Show us the Win! Show us the Win!" Flashbulbs of the paparazzi going off in my eyes as young girls, and even old cougars throw their underwear and room keys at me.
Book deals. Movie deals. Made for TV movies.
In six months the president would be wanting me at all the major functions of the White House, and the Queen of England would get upset that I wasn’t spending enough time in Her Royal Presence. Within a year war would break out.
All because I took the Win.
So, nope, it’s not worth it.
But ya know it is kind of shiny. And it sure would look good over my fireplace. Shiny. Pretty. Nice. Sooo nice. Sooo pretty. So...well...ya know...it REALLY couldn’t hurt TOO much just to touch it could it? Just to hold it for a second.....? Just to.....
GRAB IT AND RUN! RUN AWAY! RUN, RUN, RUN! RUN LIKE THE WIND WITH THE WIN! BYE! Byeeeeeeee!
