I said 'no more' to apartment living when I moved down here. Single family homes for rent are plentiful and you don't have to share your walls.

Lots of boxes of books and magazines, a set of World Book that would have been thrown out if I hadn't rescued it, files and papers . . . ooooh, christmas decorations...the bane of my existence...one day i told my daughter that she needed to come get about half of the decorations & she said, "but won't i get them in the will?" i explained that i didn't much feel like storing them till death LOL i have a closet full of them!! since i started driving truck, i don't even set them up anymore...but i have a tacky little tree for the dashboard made of multicolored bells [:D]

My whole family is insanely devoted to Christmas decorating. My aunt, who has the most money and room to indulge habit, has three rooms in her basement filled with Christmas stuff. I don't do much decorating in my apartment, so I make up for it at work.

yeah, 3 rooms devoted to it is a bit overboard, i'd say...i'm just a really good packer, i think.....

So compared to that, my one file drawer of decorations seems almost sane. I'd actually allocated two drawers but was delightfully surprised when the decorations fit in one.

Oh no! Part of our mania is that we're also very strict about not rushing Christmas. I'll put them up after the third Sunday in Advent.

wow, that's late...but i heartily approve...i usually put mine up about the second week in December, & keep them up till New Year's Day, when they must all come down & be packed away while watching football...no decorations are allowed to be out after NYD....it's the law......
