I'm rather sensitive about the topic of transsexuals. My partner is trans & this is not something to jest about.

A transsexual doesn't just wake up one day & say.... hmmmm lets see, why don't I f'ck up my life & that of everyone around me & change my gender... yeah, that sounds fun.

Transsexuals come into life not understanding why Mom wears pretty dresses & shoes & Dad shaves his face. A trans person often realizes this as early as 3 to 4 yrs of age. As time goes by & they are living life as one gender & in their mind, heart & soul they scream out... this is not who I am. They are fearful of rejection & hatred. Told that they are crazy, sick, weird & even perverted for this.

Before I go into a full novel, I will bluntly end my reply.

No one should be "FORCED" to endure this. Yes, I have been contacted by more than one person who has been forced (or at least claims this) & was rejected by the partner who started the process & sadly these individuals drift between genders & horribly disfigured & confused as to what direction they should go & who they can trust.

ps... I appologize for the harshness but I am very involved with a gender society group & attend lectures with my partner in regards to transsexuals. A very sensitive subject for me, but often I am in a position of answering many of the silliest & often very crude questions. I see it this way, if these questions are answered, maybe their mind will open up to ask a more intelligent question.

I apologize if my post sounded like I was suggesting that this is a whim... The OP asks about forced feminization involving surgeries/hormones as if it's like cross-dressing, and it isn't exactly, so I responded maybe a little irresponsibly/insensitively to you and yours... Am sorry I offended you, didn't mean to.. M

It wasn't aimed directly toward you BlkTallFullfig, there have been a few threads that hint at this topic & there are many posts that tend to poke fun at trans persons or totally do not grasp the reality of the true struggles that being trans means

but then,..i don't know. the willing part i understand is not forced, --is it a hair line technical question to say hormones on a male is forcing his body to change so therefor it IS forced??

bullheaded? stubborn? (same thing isn't it?)

What meds are you taking & the amounts? Did you have bloodwork done or a examination of your prostate?

The ability to purchase these drugs & self medicate is very dangerous. There is a risk of blood clots, liver & kidney damage... all can very likely result in death.

You 'say' you are poofing out... have you noticed that the downstairs is also being remodeled?? HRT (hormone replacement theropy) is 'forcing' (as one poster suggested) the body to conform from one gender to another & in the case of male to female you are preparing for your outtie to become an innie. It only take a short period of time for the hormones to effect changes in a penis that cannot be reversed.

All of these risks & changes would be discussed with the patient that seeks gender reassignment if they take the proper course. Persons that self medicate have no clue & the damage is usually done before they realize it.

****no clue? possible. i am taking an herbal i bought. i cannot find any local doctors. i tried the university, and the V.A.--so far no one wants to discuss it and i am not going out of state...i will take whatever risk there is on my own shouders.
i cannot even find a domme that is interested. some say yeah they want a sissy but no input help to doing it.

You mentioned you tried the university, and I assume you mean the University of Iowa. But did you try the Women's Resource and Action Center which is in Iowa City? They don't have any discussion groups this summer but during the school year they sponsor some very useful discussion groups. For example:

Alternatively, in Des Moines there is the

It offers counseling and support services for CD/TS/TG. And can get you a referral to a physician to prescribe and monitor estrogen therapy.

Iowa -does- have transsexual resources. After all, a famous university professor transitioned here about 10 years ago. Its simply a matter of knowing who to talk to.
