i have to say the fair amount of profiles i have seen here are pretty good - spelling and grammar.  If you wish a real laugh, try a swinger's website.  OMG, bad spelling, poor grammar, and couples with not a whole mouth of teeth between the two of them!!!!  90% of the profiles contact you, asking to look at their profile to see if there is a match, no questions are filled out, and all pictures are of schlongs! 

So i am pretty  spoiled here.  Also, the wit and intellegence here is far superior than anywhere else.  Thank you for the continued mental stimulation!

Oh dear, it seems my profile fits with the "only looking for friends" trend! *runs off to go think of something else to write instead.*

Hm, let's see...one trend that really cracks me up is when I search the profiles using a filter that only returns people seeking men. For some reason, I seem to get a fair amount of lesbian profiles, all of which of course always say something like, "no men! Don't even bother mailing me, it will get sent to the bulk folder and I'll never even read it!" Ok then, and your profile is set for seeking dom or sub men why?

I don't quite understand the trend I see when I look at who viewed my profile. It seems the majority are much older, straight, dominant men. I'm assuming they don't want a young, straight male sub, but they're the main people who like to view me.

Oh, I can explain that one, mercurialis - it seems to me that many of the older men (not all) have a difficult time admitting they are at the least "bi-curious." Also many of them cannot admit they are truly submissive. I get quite a few emails from men with dom profiles, usually older men, who want to submit to me.

The terms "straight" and "Dom" are really quite relative around here.

About 7 years ago I used to rock the MSN chat rooms with my version of Shania Twain.. sadly.. Master has never allowed me to do it in real life.. though I did IM him with it and after a pause the reply was... good grief!  You went and made me do it after all these years....

I'll agree with the observation concerning the rampant lack of proper spelling and grammar.  I've made mention in my journal that if you can't take the trouble to type properly and make sense, don't expect me to respond to you.  I may have gotten my B.S. in science, but English was my second main interest in school.  I have a brain and I know how to use it.  If you want to impress me, you should too!  [;)]
 
But of course, so many people don't bother to read everything before they go and contact you...  [:D]

My favorite are the guys that keep popping up that change what they are....one week they are Dom, next they are sub, next they are slave, next they are switch.

This one guy pops up on my intro page so often I finally just emailed him and asked...so which are you????

I agree with an earlier zumula post in that my profile and journal are not typical collarme prose.  Is there any variety here or is averyone looking for the same TPE, 24/7 relationship?

I also love to see someone in their 20's or 30's count from their 18th birthday and say that is the number of years they have been in this lifestyle.  Get real.  Most people come to this lifestyle after their 20's.

Another favorite is the phrase 'naturally dominate man'

I have come to disregard profiles that list a person's kinky tastes,we here are all kinky that is why we are on Collarme.I prefer to see a profile which has been constructed with thought,a profile which is honest and about the person,as it is the person that interests me.Kink can be explored later as it is fun to explore.

There's a couple of things I've noticed lately in the profiles I read ... and it's not so much what they're saying in the profile that gets me ... it's the complete lack of follow-through in conversations!  For example, there's the ones that profess how they are a real person looking for a real situation - and yet, they won't have a real conversation!  They really were only just lookin' for kinky sexy chat.  The other one is how anyone really interested should be prepared to talk on the phone pretty quickly - and yet, a couple of conversations & you suggest the phone call & they run!  THAT one cracks me up!! LOL

This is not always the case.  Both my Master and myself  got into the lifestyle when we were in our late teens.  i do understand what you are talking about though.  W/we have met several that say that they have been in for 'X' number of years, but dont know even the basics of it.

In defence of people with naff profiles - I came here all eager and ignorant, keen to get involved.  And then I'm faced with all those questions - and I had NO idea what some of those choices even meant (still don't, for a few of them.)  I started trying to be painstakingly honest, but after a while... well... just tick the boxes and keep moving.... and then suddenly there's all this  STUFF listed and no idea how to change anything.... (don't try to explain it, my computer illiteracy extends several metres in all directions, I'm beyond incompetence).  And how do you sum yourself up in a way that's witty and charming and clearly communicates what you want?  And, more importantly, what you don't want?  Especially when all you can think about is some of those boxes you just ticked... "Oh wow, I wonder what THAT is.... and BOY do people get to do THAT? ... and ohhh I'd love a chance to try that but I'd never dare... just imagine what it'd be like.... ohhh that one's my deepest darkest fantasy.... what, you want WORDS right now?  Intelligent sentences?"

...and of course I mean that metaphorically, but maybe not in quite the way you think.

That is, where exactly do you start? From the day you got curious? Or from the first time you fucked with chains involved? :P

I don't think that's as true as it used to be. I was curious by age 18 and firmly entrenched in the lifestyle at age 20. In today's era, it is MUCH more common for people to get involved at a young age.
