That is, where exactly do you start? From the day you got curious? Or from the first time you fucked with chains involved? :P

The first time I was curious, I was still a child.  I knew nothing about sex, but I knew the idea of being restrained gave me a tingly feeling in certain places.  But if you can't count till you've done it, then I've never been part of the lifestyle.

I also love to see someone in their 20's or 30's count from their 18th birthday and say that is the number of years they have been in this lifestyle.  Get real.  Most people come to this lifestyle after their 20's.

Another favorite is the phrase 'naturally dominate man'
Debbie

Ok,, so I take great offense to this post, not to mention this comment negates its self!

I am in my 30's thank you very much!  38 to be exact. I have been in this lifestyle since I was in High School. I started my training then. I was 18 in 1986, I started my training in 1985..so that makes 22 years of experiance with training. Not to mention in the time between then and now,, I have run a Slave farm, I have been around the planet many times( No not blowing my own horn,, making a point! ) and I have lived in nearly every state in the union minus Alaska and Hawaii! I have done more in my years than many,, Not all but many do by the time they are 70!

Hate to burst your bubble sweetie,, but you negated your self with your own comment also and I quote once more ""Get real.  Most people come to this lifestyle after their 20's. "" un-quote..

OOooook if "most" come to this lifestyle after their 20's, theeeennnnn a percentage come to this lifestyle much later, aaannnnd a Percentage come to it much earlier, and some even are born into it.

Making a statement that sounds as though you are trying to debunk my  or any one eles life pisses me off to no end.

On the "OTHER  PHRASE" topic.  I am an "A" Type Personality,, wich equates to an Alpha type Personality. Thus I am an Alpha Male Personality----
Scientifically proven,, "A"Type personalities generally are "Naturally Dominate" male or female. So Sorry you do not like the phrase it is legitimate for some one to use!!!

Please try watching your words from now on and discribe with more detail what you are thinking with out making blanket statements!

Thanks
and no for a Change this is not phoenix Posting  it is Dragon

P.S.
I also survived a Near Fatal Beating because of my Religious and Spiritual Beliefs! Try that some time.

I think you'll find you're naturally DominANT, not naturally DominATE. I believe the original poster's point wasn't that there is "no such thing" as a naturally dominant person, just that they find the mistype amusing.

Not so much a cliche... but please: lose the colored backgrounds and the stupid font choices. Save the patterns of spinning hearts and bouncing emoticons for your MySpace blog.

celticsong -> RE: Profile trends (6/19/2007 12:27:21 AM)

Personally, I am completely turned off by Doms who whine in their profiles and journals.
One of the most common whines is, "How come no one ever writes me back?"

I want to write and say, "Be a man! Stop begging subs to be kind or they might hurt your widdle feelings!"

I just can't see kneeling to a whiner, somehow.

Saying how long you've been in this lifestyle would seem to be like measuring a man's dick.

...and of course I mean that metaphorically, but maybe not in quite the way you think.

That is, where exactly do you start? From the day you got curious? Or from the first time you fucked with chains involved? :P

I think it would be the frst time you actually did something kinky.....like having sex while being restrained or paddling someone.

Also let it be noted that by the time I was 17, I was really curious about BDSM and started looking at it online. The very day I turned 18, I was out the door and at the toy store-which they kicked me out of because in my mad rush I forgot my ID and cash. I mean, I wasn't even 18 for 10 hours and I was gone!

Here come the spelling and Grammer Nazi's. Geesus, give every one a break. Some do not type very well, some have things Like Nervous disorders and Siezures. Sometimes,,, it is simply an missed typo. For the Love of Pete give the Nazi spelling corrections a rest will you!

I am not here typing out a resume, a buisness letter or form, a formal government document or any other formal or buisness type of wpork,,, this is the internet ( Not created by Bill Gates  by the way ) not a buisness meeting or any formal function. If I miss a typo it is just that a TYPO. get over it. I am not proof reading every thing I type on a forum or a blog for you spelling and Grammer Nazi's there are less of you then those who have Typo's get over it.

Also it is proven that as long as the begining of and ending of a word is right you can jumble the rest in the middle and the Human brain recognizes it as the word it is meant to be! If yours doesnt,, to bad your Malfunctioning! (LOL that is a joke)

Lighten Up folks typo's wont end the world or you life!

One can be very inteligent but completely lack a good edumacation.  This lack of an edumacation may cause said wannabe Rhodes Scholar from spelling words correctly.

Alighierisquest -> RE: Profile trends (6/19/2007 10:12:57 PM)

Not only humorous but many of these things are object lessons in what to avoid in writing a profile.  I've certainly seen my share of all these profile and I have only been looking at them for a combined several hours over the past week during which I created one myself.  My favorites are the ones that 'describe' financial slavery despite that collarme.com says that's a no no.  The ones that use all sorts of strong, borderline intimidating language to prove how dominant they are as if they're better because they're meaner.

It's not a defense of poor communication skills but the pressure to be original and re-invent oneself in the face of thousands of similar profile can be daunting.  When even your best purple prose can't arouse interest you have two options, act out or act indifferently.  If your not prepared for it you can end up with an apathetic attitude quickly.  It's a thought anyway.

"I'm a sub looking for a dom"(but don't expect a reply)lol

quietboynyc -> RE: Profile trends (6/20/2007 7:16:55 AM)

" i am cute,loving,charming,romantic,loyal,affectionate,trustworthy and god fearing"
And modest, too.

"Hello and how are you doing well love to know more about you .... looking for some one that will be with me ....lol you kno what i mean i need a dog my by my side"
Using LOL for no reason whatsoever, except maybe novelty.

Wyrd -> RE: Profile trends (6/20/2007 8:53:11 AM)

Seen this a few times...

"I am happilly collared for life to Dom A, do not contact as I am very happy and no longer looking."

Then the next week the profile was changed with a new Dom's name and a few weeks later another Dom's name...

W/we have seen this one too.  We call it 'Dom jumping'  my son calls it 'Homey Hopping'.  Samething, different lifestyle.

HypnoticDan -> RE: Profile trends (6/20/2007 3:14:16 PM)

Almost as annoying are all the scripting errors in the pages.  I can't even open CM in IE because it "blinks" about 40 times before opening the page.  What are they trying to do, send me subliminal messages?  Good luck with that.  Then when you read a message it doesn't have any formatting and gives you a handy link to the sender's profile.  If you then reply it shows you the message with formatting but no handy link.   The mini-profile/full profile text formatting problem is the same as the email problem, and the icing on the cake is the "State:Country:" bug in all american profiles.

So it's not the kind of trend the OP was thinking of.  It's still a trend.

MadRabbit -> RE: Profile trends (6/20/2007 4:31:00 PM)

"I'm strict, but kind. Sweet, but bitter. A premature ejaculator, but will lie about it." (Okay I made that last one up, but thats usually what I think when I see the whole "X, but Y" thing on all these dominant profiles)

SlaveBlutarsky -> RE: Profile trends (6/20/2007 6:49:59 PM)

"I AM SICK OF THE LOOSERS ON THIS SITE WHO CAN'T READ MY PROFILE AND ARE FAKE AND TIME WASTERS. I AM PROFESSIONAL LIFESTYLE DOMME WHO IS LOOKING FOR A WORM TO PAMPER ME AND BUY ME THINGS AND TREAT ME LIKE A QUEEN. I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR FANTASIES OR WHAT YOU WANT IT'S ALL ABOUT ME!!!1!1! DON'T  WASTE MY TIME IF YOU AREN'T SINCERE AND RICH AND GOOD LOOKING AND WILLING TO SPEND YOUR MONEY ON ME."

From a male submissive's perspective, I love how a good number of FemDom's profiles begin with absurd negativity and what they don't want. I'm pretty sure that in life you get what you project. If you scream (in a way) at the top of your lungs what you don't want and how pathetic everyone who's written you is, what are you going to get? The same dopes trying to prove you wrong. As the first impression people are going to get from me on this site in a lot of cases, I'm thinking it's a good idea not to show the pain in the ass, negative whiner side of me. I could be wrong though.
