Identify Theaft This is a subject that is in the news almost daily. As a matter of fact, we hear it so much that we become indifferent to it. Well, I am sorry to say that I had my wallet stolen at work by a customer last week. Within one hour, they wrote almost $200 worth of bad checks on my name. Fortunately, my boss had me call the bank immediately. I was in shock at that point. At least I listened to her. Because I notified the bank, they returned the checks as closed account. I later had the police come into work and do a "statement" not a report. My boss did a statement. I took all of that information to the bank. I will still have to go to the stores that took the check and show them that information. I did not want to call the police because I only had $4.00 cash in there; however, I lost my drivers licence, ssn number and check book. I don't carry credit cards anymore. Now, I don't carry SSN numbers or checks. The only id I carry in my wallet is my driver's licence and debit card. They can get the checks cashed at places who give checks back as receipts. It was Walmart. Just a friendly reminder to be very careful of where you put your things. Identify theaft can happen to any of us at anytime. I was at a different location with no security cameras. If we had security cameras in that store, we would have caught him red handed. I won't work at a location without cameras anymore. Have an awesome day. Regards, MissSCD [Mod Note: font reduced]
