How old are you? How many years would you have left if you died at 50? Just something to ponder....... please, the sex ed 101 is not necessary. my Master and i are both well-versed in sexual health, std's and sti's, risks for various practices, etc. please don't assume that because no condoms are used that absolutely no safety measures have taken place. but as a slave, such things are really none of my business, my Master can use me or have me used as he wills. i accepted this nearly 7 years ago and have no regrets.

I do not have to agree with your choice to respect it. You are obviously an adult and capable of making choices appropriate for you.... If you are content with his choices and accept that they may involve significant risk then it is no ones place to force a different view on you....not mine...or anyone elses. I suppose my ranting and raving comes from two places....one...I am a mother...and tend toward protective/concerned gestures....especially when I see or hear of something that scares me in relation to physical health. I know i'm not your Mother...but forgive me for my compulsive advice spewing.... And the second one..is that I have had first hand experience with what can and does happen...even with those we love . Its truely (when you get down to it) none of my business, if you have not asked for my opinion. Please try and chalk it up to concern for a fellow lifestyle submissive/slave and nothing more.....

These responses are about what I would expect. It's a similar reaction to those I got from swingers. And it's precisely why we never have unprotected sex with anyone any more, except with each other within our marriage. There are so many people playing russian roulette out there, I am continually gobsmacked by it, but it affirms for me the fact that we are not wasting our time playing it safe. People who are into BDSM are taking even greater risks than those in the vanilla population. I respect other people's right to do exactly as they please, and really appreciate this opportunity to get an insight into the way other people think :)) LH

Gods, I would have figured that by now most people on these forums would have realized that Daddysprop's relationship is a lot different from what most of us engage in. Yeah, there is risk. Life is risk. Walk down the street and you risk getting hit by a car. Myself, I do not use condoms when I am in a commited relationship, I also do not sleep around. Yeah, grill me for the risk, but don't lecture me about how foolish I am.

In those times, I did. If I am in more than one sexual relationship at a time, or if it is a relatively new relationship, then it is always protected. No ifs ands or buts. I insist on new partners being tested before we move from protected to unprotected. To insist on something like that as soon as I meet someone, or right after we get involved strikes me as wrong. But thats just me. DV

while i have had my share of unprotected sex, i find it amusing yet sad that people assume that because they use a condom they are safe...the only 100% safe sex is no sex...but i am aware of the risks i take, and though i can't say i am prepared for the worst that could happen (i don't think anyone can be prepare themselves to find out that they've had HIV for an indeterminable amount of time, and btw its full blown AIDS oh and your spouse has it too...a good friend went thru this discovery a couple of months ago) but i am aware that it is a possibilty...i had the full gammut of tests almost 3 months ago....but its only been about a month since i had my last unprotected sex so, i'm gonna wait a minute to go down to the AIDS center and gonna get in there to see a gyn as soon as i get my insurance co. to pull their heads out of their asses...

I have had unprotected sex in the past when I was younger because I was stupid and really too young to really know what I was exposing myself to. When me and my Master (hubby) first met we had protected sex for a few months and then we quit having protected sex and haven't since. This I had to say about the STD tests yes they are only good for that point in time and I know it takes awhile for HIV to show up in those tests but if both people haven't had sex since the last test was performed then most likely they are clean, if they want to risk getting HIV then that is up to them. It does seem stupid that some people think that the tests give them protecting without having to use anything physical as protection. It does give some protection but nothing is better protection than a condom. Sorry, just had to share my .02 cents worth.[:D]

(fast reply) Everyone who says they are clean and all their tests are negative--what about HPV? I don't think there is a test for men for the non-wart varieties of HPV, and condoms do not prevent transmission because it is transmillted by skin contact not fluids. There are no symptoms in men but if passed to a female it can cause cervical cancer if not caught early. I've heard ads on TV for a new test for women for HPV besides a pap smear. Has anyone had that done?

I think they're working on a secondary fluid test (blood, urine, not completely sure though). There is a working vaccine that appears to be having good results.

I wonder if you might be confusing the ads for Gardasil with advertising for a new test. Gardasil is a vaccination for certain types of HPV that is only for girls and women, ages of 9 to 26? The only other thing I can think of is the ThinPrep system, but it still requires a collection of cells from down under. [:)] Do you recall what program you were watching when you saw the t.v. ad?

The vaccine for HPV doesn't protect you from every HPV strain out there so even if you have the vaccine you can still get other strains of HPV.

Another common misconception is that using condoms only during intercourse is considered safe sex. STD's are spread by unprotected oral sex too. When most people say they practice safe sex, what they really mean is they practice safe intercourse but engage in unprotected oral sex. Therefore they are still high risk. It's scary, but true.

I"m amazed at how much faith people put in a clean std test. It was clean at that time, in that it didn't pick anything up. What have you/they done since then? Does the pick up hiv infections within hours of being infected? Oy LS
