i don't "do" anything per se, to "trigger" any kind of praise, but the praise that He gives when i have done something well in His eyes certainly does encourage me to work even harder to please Him even more next time...

i don't look a His praise as an incentive...i look at it as a gift from Him given when it pleases Him to do so. i'm just thankful that it pleases Him to give it often. :)

As others have said, I don't do things specifically for praise, I do my best at all times, if praise is forthcoming, that's great, but it's not something I expect or set my sights on. In my eyes that would be manipulative, which is something I go out of my way to avoid.

In the case of "Good boy", it makes me feel all tingly, in a good way. The dog comparison does nothing for me, but being treated as a pet and approved of by a Dom/me are both positive feelings.

For Angel, good girl is a bost, especialy when he has been worreid he wasnt making me happy. It also kicks him into subspace even when he wasnt quite there.

For Kitten, its good boy. Its a comfort for him, positive reinforcement is something that has been sorely mising from his life and even the smallest positive comment means a lot to him. He usualy hears it when we are playing and I have pushed him farther than average.

I'm in the praise-junkie category...I adore getting 'good girl' just about anytime, anywhere, from anyone, for anything...so long as it's sincere.  There's other sorta similar things that I'd only feel right if they came from Master, but that's because there is a possessive element to them and I only belong to him.  [:)]

No one but my Daddy has ever called me a "good girl". When he says it I am instantly aroused, humbled, shy, and pushed into (or deeper into) subspace. It makes me feel kind of giddy inside.

The first time he said it to me during puppy play I got almost completely mute (which happens to me often when I'm deep). All I could do was rub my face against his leg and cry as he patted my head.

Good girl are two of the sweetest words my Master can say to me, sometimes almost making me cry (in a good way).  Hearing them makes me feel fulfilled.  [:D]

From the right person, it turns my knees to Jell-O.  I'm not sure how well I'll be able to articulate it beyond that, but I'll try.

Someone, I think it was Macy (forgive me for not checking), said it gets her hackles up because it's something that's said to children and dogs.  That's partly why I like it, I think.  I do associate it with children and puppies, not grown women.   And that's why it can put me straight into the submissive mindset.  When he uses it and I buy into it, in my head, it puts him in a position of power--trainer, teacher, dominant, owner, whatever.  While it makes me feel protected, safe and cherished, it also makes me feel a bit weak (not in a bad way) and vulnerable in contrast to him. 

I'm a complete glutton for praise, and "good girl" hits that spot, too.

lol love it ... and as to it being a term used on dogs ... well when things were rough between him and I and words of praise became non-existant I was actually jealous of when he told his dog she was a good girl ... now that is sad lol
