quote:
But why do i feel so sad and like a traitor? Do I have a "duty" to continue doing a job i do well and helps others and the community? i'm tired, i'm old and i don't feel 100% anymore. i want to travel to visit my grandchildren - get healthier(loose weight) - be a better slave. My humble thoughts, for what they're worth: -- If you think about it, it's good that you feel a bit sad about ending this job. That means you've been doing something fulfilling and valuable. If you felt nothing but joy, you might wonder if you'd wasted all that time. -- No, you don't have a duty to keep at the job if you don't want to. There are many different ways to enrich your community. Being a good grandmother is one of them. So is volunteer work, which might be worth exploring. -- By stepping aside, you're giving someone else (who may desperately need a job) a chance to work, shine, and serve. -- This will sound totally goofy, but it works. Try flipping a coin about whether to work or not. Pay attention to whether you're pleased or disappointed by the coin's verdict. That may help you gauge what you really want. -- When I was stressing over a decision, a wise friend pointed out that there was no object right answer. What would determine the rightness of my choice was how I lived it out. In other words, whatever path you choose, follow it with gusto and don't look back. Blessings on your path!
