this girl has hot vegetable soup with a little turkey meat in it.  i chopped up just about every veggie that was in the fridge.  Celery, onion, carrot, spinach,green bell pepper, tomato.  And then got into the frozen veggies, too - corn and brocolli "cuts".  (No peas - Hanible has the bag of peas to use as an ice pack.)  It's been on the back burner all afternoon with chicken broth and water added 'til it looked right.  It's goo and HOT.  Come and get it!  [Rings the dinner bell]

I"LL have some of that...A poll I have running at another site...Would you rather be home, raisnin kids or out in the workforce with a good job,,its a given that you love your master and he loves you>>>Vote

sunshinemiss -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (1/27/2009 2:56:08 PM)

In the workforce for me.  I love kids, but it would be too hard for me.  I'm very much an extravert and my soul would just wither up if I were at home a lot.

HOWEVER, if it were a communal living situation where I woul have lots of interaction with adults and we would help each other with the kiddies, probalby stay at home.

Interesting question.  How's the poll?

Don't have a master, but. . . .

How many kids?  What are the ages?  What is the current income of the household?  What are the current outgo needs?  What would the job be?  How many hours would the job entail?  What is my current age?  What is the status of the retirement funds?  What are the child care options if needed?  How many hours does the other half work?  Is there a commute?  What is mine and the other person's education level?  How much time is needed for upkeep where we live?  What is the benefit package at the job?  At the other person's job?  Are we married?  Are we in a rural or urban area?  How much family lives in the area?

and so on and so forth.

Bounty, there is really a lot to take into consideration when making that determination and/or decision.  At least for me there is.  Yes, feminism did give me the option to CHOOSE, but I would need to make the best choice for my family.

fluffypet61 -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (1/27/2009 5:58:45 PM)

i'd rather be retired...which i am.  Now i can volunteer when i want to or stay home when i want to or work part time when i want to.  i served my time working full time and raising kids, foster kids and grandkids.

sunshinemiss -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (1/27/2009 6:18:48 PM)

You're a good woman there fluffylicious

fluffypet61 -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (1/27/2009 7:07:24 PM)

Here is a veggie tray.  The celery has a peanut butter filling.  There is ranch dip for the brocoli and califlower and carrots.  Also some spinach dip. NO you do not dip the spinach in the dip.  The spinach is mixed into the dip.

The other tray is cheese and crackers.

this girl remembers eating spam heated over sterno when the power went out.  And cannel coal in the fireplace to stay warm.

Aylee -> RE: BOUNTY'S coffee shop (1/27/2009 8:05:58 PM)

Dinty Moore Beef Stew is what we had.  My dad would go in the garage, open the door a bit and use the camp stove.

For breakfast today, Butterhead and I made some orange-glazed crossaints last night!  And you all know where to find the coffee/tea/cocoa/soda/beverage of choice!
