i personally don't bother with protein shakes. i am neither an athelete nor do i workout at a level that would require extra protein. i really enjoy regular foods that i can chew to get my nutrition. From WebMD: "protein shakes are used mainly by athletes who need nourishment right after their workouts." "Almost all people can get the protein they need from whole foods and beverages in their diet. The recommended daily allowance for healthy men and women ages 19 and older is 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight, or about 46 to 56 grams of protein a day. Because most Americans consume closer to 1.5 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight daily, they don't need protein shakes or supplements for extra protein."
