mre's used to be called c-rations. they are packaged meals with heating devices given to military folk that can't get to a d'fac ( dining facility ) they are bad. they are loaded with calories because a soldier is normally given one a day to eat as s/he has time. the calories are there because they need them to do what they do. but they are made by the lowest bidder and the quality reflects that, plus soldiers eat so many they just get sick of them.

That sounds like something to eat when you're hiking. I remember talking in WW about "trail mix" and they were all "oh we can't eat that." And I (a hiker/backpacker) said It's called TRAIL mix cause you need it ON THE TRAIL... the carbs/sweets right away and the protein of the nuts for the long haul. Thanks for the MRE info. Sounds blechy to me.

Ooooops, forgot tea & honey for the sickly folks. Sunshine, I've seen them w/TRACHS, hooked up to O2, SMOKING!!!!!! Yes, SMOKING!!!! There was a sign on 1 patient's apt. door......"No Smoking, Oxygen in Use" yet her apt. was REEKING w/the smell of SMOKE!

You know, there was a guy who did hte same thing at the hospital where I worked. Blew up the oxygen tank. We had a serious fire at the hospital because of that. *Clean up the gene pool, I say.

Good Morning All! Just sitting down for a cuppa and some of the quiche! How is everyone today? Ya know Sunshine. . . it seems that the one thing agreed upon with quiting smoking, is that if the person does not REALLY want to quit, then it is just not going to work.

And no, I really do not want one. As I mentioned, that "Boost" stuff was bad enough while I was preggers and it was supposed to be a tasty chocolate flavor.
