zindy, if you are getting alternating bacterial and yeast infections it may be that the cure for one is contributing to the growth of the other. Yeast isn't really an infection but an overgrowth of yeast that occurs when the natural PH balance is out of whack. We all have yeast in our bodies all the time. When we use medications to kill bacterial infections they don't differentiate between good bacteria and bad bacteria, they kill all bacteria, including the ones that eat yeast and keep it in balance. You may wish to try some acidophilus supplements. It will keep the numbers of your good bacteria (the one's that eat yeast) up. AZO makes a tablet that helps with recurrent yeast infections or you can buy acidophilus at a health food store (the tablets that have to be kept refrigerated work best).

Yes mistoferin is correct try the acidolpholis and also buy some ecinacia (I'm sure I spelt them wrong but both are in close proximity) you may want to have your dr check for possible pcos (polycistic ovarian syndrome) or possibly endometreois.  That area is loaded with that crap for some reason (you know that i should know girl i use to live there and have both).  Trust me, just ask if either could be a possibility look them both up in google and see if any of the symptoms relate if so ask the dr and go from there.

I haven't read through all of this, but I had a similar problem earlier in the fall. Have you had your thyroid checked?  I was actually having very painful sex and found that my menses was soo messed up to the point I thought every other month that I must be pregnant. I was also tired all the time, and a bunch of other things.

My physicians assistant initially wanted me to go to the gyno, as my cervix bleed a little during the pap. I found the bc that he had given me messed me up even more, so the doc sent me to test my thyroid. (yeah don't ask how he came to that conclusion). In the end, my thyroid had been injured and I had an overwhelming amount of thyroid hormones in my system, thus causing all of the issues. I've been seeing and endocrinologist and as of last month the hormone levels evened out. I also found that I enjoyed sex more than I had in a while.

Another suggestion, depending on your age is to get the Gardasil shot. It protects against some of the viruses that cause HPV, which can cause issues as well.

Hope everything works out!

Well, I have had my blood levels checked recently and no problems their. This has been going on for quite a few years. I pretty much think it is vaginismus...seems highly likely to me. But I could be wrong...but I can only focus on one at a time to try and fix it.
