If I dont get a response, I generally assume (A) They arent interested (B) They read my prodile and realized I am not looking, but really did just write to chat like they requested though they dont really want just to chat (C) I fell into a spam filter
No harm no foul, you dont know them yet and if they dont write back, you probably dont want to know them anyway.
