i feel sure there have been previous threads on this subject but i can't find them at present. Basically, Madam wants me to have something that will show to people on the scene that i am owned but will not necessarily mean anything to Others/others.

She doesn't want me to have a tattoo and finds branding a little extreme (though We/we have not ruled this out). i have a collar from a previous relationship and We/we could obtain a tag and get it engraved somehow, but Madam would prefer something i could wear always, or that would always be there. She is thinking in terms of a neck-chain but what to put on it? Just Her name might make it look as if i was wearing a woman's chain; "property of" would be too much in public.

Any suggestions please?

I've been thinking about this subject in regards to my pet as well.  A few ideas he and I came up with were either a military-style dogtag or a similar tag for a pet worn on a long enough chain so as not to be visible under a shirt, a necklace or short chain with a lock on it (signifying "collared," but without "property of" written on it), a leather wristband that may or may not resemble the collar we use for scenes, or a set of leather slave/Master rings.

Additionally, if you'd like something similar to a tattoo, you could use henna or a "create your own temporary tattoo" kit.  If you live someplace sunny, the "sunscreen tattoo" is kind of fun, too.

Have you thought about the medical style ID bracelets? They have a place for engraving, and come in several different styles. Military dog tags can work, most army/navy surplus stores can punch them out for you.

It sounds like you both have already gone through a lot of the options out there- it really is a very personal choice and it's almost worse than asking someone else to decide on your engagement ring for you.

There are the classic locking collars.

I've been thinking about this as well, and marked my husband/slave with a tatou only vissible when you get really intimite. But then I found www.slaveregister.com . So I registered him, and put a photo as proof of his registration. But what's more: the site makes the registration dependant from the slave, and the number given ( look at 000-733-561 for mine) makes the property transferrable if you would want that. I just love the idea (because of the implications involved -mind play) and would like to share it before you decide on putting a tatou: take the idea in account. They also have a section with marking info and foto's of members registered. You can make a little srtwork with those numbers, or use collars, tags.

Second, I thought about injecting one of these RFID-chips they use for cats and dogs. Readable with a scanner, but not visible.

As an alternative, I use bluetooth: his NOKIA gsm emits a profile linking him to femdom and his registration number, through the use of graphics (JPGs with the sites logos.). A discrete way to dsend your data, but nobody knows who is carrying the info. Well, of course not entirally secure, but thats part of my game.

We use neckalces with a charm that means something to us. I wear mine as a showing that I'm collared to my spritual path of being a Master. she wears hers as a showing that she's collared to me. With a pair of pliers, it's easy to hardwire the necklace on.

I have to agree with LA.
It should be personal to the two of you. If it is something recognized by others in the scene but means nothing  to the two of  you then why have it.

What is wrong with a simple neck chain? Seriously, it isn't about what other people see or notice about it, and you don't want it to be too obvious and with a neck chain you two will know the meaning of it without anyone else knowing.

Then you could have something else to wear if you went out to play publicly.

i have a few different collars to wear with different things, i have casual and i have rhinestone dressy ones....

i also recently got a tag from a pet store that is a red heart that says "DADDYS GIRL....*his phone number*.....ask for *his name*...this way if anything should happen to me while i doing something without him they will know who to call in an emergency. i can take that tag on and off of any of my collars.

Another option, i do this alot because of neck pain is i wear one of my collars around my ankle, with the tag and under socks....no one sees it...i know it is there and then if anything happens they know who to call.

So thats my 2 cents [:)]

With the start of employment Robert and I decided it best we find a more discreet collar for him to wear.  I went to my favorite beading store and purchased everything I needed to make a collar for him.  It is hard wired on and it is made exactly how I wanted...I chose everything so it couldn't be more personalized.  I chose black beads with a purple stone (black is Robert's favorite color and purple mine).  It looks like a necklace and no one would ever know that it shows has significance to us as ownership.

Thanks A/all who made suggestions - blmtrsne's sound pretty high tech!

The question arose because i was serving at a party held by my former Mistress recently (with the consent of my current Owner but not in her presence) and attracted the interest of another Lady. When it came to light that i was already owned, the Lady suggested it might be advisable for me to carry some sort of mark of ownership to prevent any misunderstandings. We/we discussed it and liked the idea. Having something that will only mean anything to Us/us, therefore, would defeat the object.

Incidentally, i was only seeking suggestions for the type or means of signification; the final choice will, of course, be made by Madam.

If Master ever got me an engraved tag it would read POMM not that anyone else will think anything of that .  It Means Property of Master Matt.  Maybe you can do something with just intnals or something like that.  Just a thought.

i wear a rope chain with a star pendant since star is the name He gave me. It's what i wear every day as a symbol.

Also, Master and i didn't go the tattoo route either.  We went the scarification route.  I have a star cutting on my chest -viewable to anyone in the right outfits (tank tops, my wedding dress, halter tops, etc).  It's not always as obvious as a tattoo but it's there none the less and is easily explained in vanilla settings and shows His ownership of me in lifestyle settings.

Us beaders could cum up with creative ways to incorporate anklets, bracelets and something worn around the neck to coordinate ... specific stones for meaning and even tags.  Your local beaders store would probably make you anything you want and never question it.
Your choice of stainless steel, sterling silver, 10-14K gold, gold tone, silvertone, bali, copper, etc hardware.
I make stuff by request and I have gotten some weird orders.  But the important thing is, I made it the way they want it.

I like this concept very much !!  Use your own symbolism, take the idea to a silver or gold smith and have something made... ring, bracelet, anklet or necklace.
Much like you take a concept to a tattoo artist and they bring it to life !

if you can figure it out or know someone who can do it, you can permanently attach a chain mail collar just by finishing it actually on the neck which can be taken off with a pair of wire cutters in a medical emergency....rather than ruin a leather collar that is locked on (they will cut the leather long before the lock)...
as for body mods...there is a few options...genital piercings seems to be a popular option...i have some friends where She is gonna tattoo "Mine" on the head of his penis...a branding can be quick and relatively painless (relative to tattoos) the pain that is there doesn't last long because you are killing the nerve endings and after that the endorphins kick in real quick...but i am a cautery pen-convert...they are easy to use and as long as you follow instructions and don't be stupid, they turn out good...i have seen a small detailed brand and i have had a large bold brand done....aftercare is simpler than tattooing too...don't pick at the scabs....thats it...don't put anything on it...of course keep it clean but...just don't pick at the scabs...which can be torture in and of itself...cutting is something else i've had done...i wouldn't reccomend it for someone not extremely into pain or meditation...i am both, but to be able to have a cutting (granted fairly large) done in the middle of my back i had to meditate myself into a extremely relaxed state....also its actually a lot easier to do harm with a cutting than a branding....i wouldn't recomend doing it with a dull knife...blades drag on skin and mess up the design...scapels are the way to go and if you don't know what you're doing well...its what they use to remove organs and stuff...
basically it can be as small and discreet or as large and decrative as you want...also keep in mind that its permanent...use something symbolic...not saying you're not going to be together forever but if god forbid the other gets hit by a bus the day after...well one would hope that eventually you would move on and have another relationship...and not a lot of people like seeing someone else's name on their partner or even a date...(the friend who's tattooing her boy's penis with Mine also recently burned off his wedding date with cautery pen at his request...)

ps, one more thing....i have a mark of ownership from my first owner fairly visable...its the kanji for servant over my heart...it works for me...not only can i explain it to my lifestyle friends, but to the people at church and elsewhere i can explain it as servant to God...which i am as well...

You might consider a multistrike brand. It will last about 6 months, depending on where you get it done, how much wear the area gets and your metabolism. It can be renewed and made permanent if you want.

This is done with a hot wire. It looks like a blunt, thick darning needle mounted in a wooden handle. It is heated red hot in a propane torch and the point is touched to the skin very briefly, typically 3 times side by side. This makes 3 dots, then it is reheated and the process continues.

It feels like a bee sting but the pain fades after 2-3 seconds and becomes like a bad sunburn. I had no problem sleeping after it and there was very little pain by the next day.

the technique described is more commonly refered to as devils fire, rather than multi strike branding...and be very very careful what "wire" you use...i believe the darning needle you are refering to is actually a disecting needle...and can be used in a variety of depths, from just popping the cells on the top layer of skin (really cool popping noise) to creating a brand...multi strike branding commonly defined as more of a strip, small or large, which is then heated and stiked in a pattern...only one purpose, to create a semi-permanent to permanent mark...devils fire can be done without any scarring...my first brand was done with this method and i have had it used in the non scarring method...
the most common problem with either of these methods is that people don't get the metal hot enough, the cautery pen takes care of this problem...its electronic...automatically heats up to hot enough...and believe me there is nothing worse than getting a brand done without the metal being hot enough 1) you don't kill the nerve cells and that hurts...2) the flesh tends to stick to the metal creating a blobby mess...i used to spout the fact that devils fire was the best and only way one should get branded...but now that i have been branded with a cautery pen, i wouldn't do anything else...
