I've found that the little anal "syringe" available in most pharmacies works well for me. Haven't found the need (so far, at least) for anything more than using that once or twice.

I've never tried it, but I hear tell that "dry enemas" might be a better choice for preparing for anal sex. A dry enema is a small, low-level enema of water-based lube rather than water -- take and hold about 10 cc's (2 teaspoons) for 20 minutes or so. Its not as messy, and has the added advantage of leaving you slightly lubricated, and any remaining traces of fecal matter tends to stick to the inner walls rather than to your insertables or partner.

I have always done enemas of small amounts about an hour beforehand if I thought it was anal time and enjoyed them somewhat with a bit of stimulation. my Dom gives me retention enemas almost weekly now, using a plug to hold it in while playing with me before i expel. It's very erotic but was embarassing for me to start with. I thoroughly enjoy and actually look forward to them now. They make me feel very clean and it's not bad at all. He lets the water flow slowly, stopping when i cramp and then begins again. The cramps only last a few seconds - 10-15 and then they reside so don't panic. Once you have finished expeling and cleaned up - you are ready to go! Good Luck!

I agree with those who say enemas can be pleasant...messy... but erotic.
I have never experienced Anal but despite my name the thought of a Domme with a strapon pointed in my direction excites me.
I hope I could relax enough for it not to hurt.

Ill tell ya i have done quite a big of enema play and a few notes you might be interested in. First off try using room temp watter. First, and having a detachable shower head to prevent using tp or flushable wipes as they can make the rectum raw after a few cycles.
I have one of those red bags you hang from the shower i fill it up bend over the recipient and move the tip into the rectum. Flip the switch while they are still bent over touching toes if possible. Let them have the control valve until they become familiar with enema and how it feels. Once they feel they can no longer hold it it i have them stand straight up and continue. This process is repeated maybe up to 1.5 bags as most can not normally take a whole gallon. This is done before anal fisting or extreme anal play, normally a few hours. About 60 minutes before anal play the process is started again, this time i will use a very warm watter. Sometimes with a dish soap (not antibacterial or an abrasive soap) and preform several small enema's. What you will notice here is that the rectum will seem to be leaking watter no matter how tight the subject thinks they are squeezing. You will notice that the rectum is becoming loose as the muscles are relaxing.. After the subject is expelling watter clear you can have them do this while sitting on the side of the tub. I suggest you get a good vantage point as when they expel you will see there rectum stay wide open. If you take your fingers you will be able to get two of them easily into the rectum and will notice it is very loose. At this point shower them up and preform one last one just before exiting the shower at a temperature in which they can sustain but very warm.
Use lots of lube and remember no matter what you are doing to watch for blood as if your stretching the anus you need to be careful (remove rings please).
I hope that this information will help while it has no medical information it does help and is quite fun (at least to me). Remember that you should not preform just extravagant enemas very often as this is hard on the body. Also promote drinking lots of watter (caffeine dehydrates, you just dehydrated the system) Have the subject avoid alcohol for a day and eat a good hearty meal as it will most likely be a good 24 hours before they need to use the lou again but it should be a fairly healthy BM.

Yes it is safe as long as you take some basic precautions. You should only use a little coffee in the mix (google for recipes). The caffeine in the coffee stimulates the liver (via the portal vein) to flush toxins from your system.

Enemas are just part of my preparation ritual whenever i see Sire. And colonics (colon hydrotherapy) are a wonderful part of a holistic approach to your health. i've had coffee mixed in with a first phase of a colonic. As a previous poster mentioned, you will notice a change in your hair, skin, and digestion. After a colonic i don't want to eat anything bad - kind of like not wanting to eat at all after my teeth are cleaned :)

Enemas and colonics allow me to totally relax for anal sex without worrying about what will "show up."

Enemas and colonic hydrotherapy were a very regular thing for me because I was taken with the strap-on on a regular basis, so I needed to be very clean inside. Because of that, I never had a problem with messes, so I really would recommend it to anyone who is involved in a lot of anal play.
