Mercy, mercy me, there are just too many fireworks scorchingly hot Women on this board.

You ladies would do Elise Sutton proud, and probably could teach her a thing or two or three...

Interestingly enough, I'm not out to make Elise proud. She has her views, I have mine. I respect her for her views but they don't work with my model.

As for teaching her a few things, well I'm not out to convert anyone's views. If she is happy being superior to her chaste, sexless boys, then more power to her! She is asserting her desires and living large.

I simply assert mine. And I believe I've been pretty blatant about those ;)

I agree with LA on this one. I like some of Elise's concepts too. Her writings on sub as "knight" holds some interest for me as I find the dichotomy between "masculine" and sub a delicious one. As for having sex with my sub...absolutely. For me, it's the only way to hold my interest. Else, I'd just pay for a maid/whore/handyman.

Is Elise really a submissive male in drag, a woman with very clever marketing skills, or the Dominant that she presents herself to be? Any thoughts?

Sorry to be so behind in posting this, but daily life had to take priority over cyber life.... and there are multiple threads where I felt compelled to stick in my two cents (sometimes not so plain).

I wanted to plotz when I read your remark about Elise being a male sub in drag. That's too funny!

I dunno what her biological gender is, but regarding the marketing side of the dynamic, IMO this is a buyer beware situation. Based on what I've seen about her background, she intentionally misrepresents her professional credentials to make people believe she's trained in a manner that's not a reflection of reality. So, accept all advice from her with caution.

I read some of Elise Sutton's book on Female Domination and read a lot of the stuff on her Web site. While i was convalescing with a broken foot i had lots of time to "study up" on the FEMDomme stuff. i really loved Elise Sutton's Web site and the book is very interesting. Although by the time i reached the forth chapter my foot was healed. All of the studying and research paid off though. My Mistress likes it when i am knowledgeable about some topic. Kind of cool.....

SadisticPrincess -> RE: Elsie Sutton's "Female Domination" (7/21/2005 7:34:33 PM)

I am a dominant who does not have sexual contact with her subs, but the notion of locking them all away in chastity? NOT interesting. I want manly men, not eunuchs!

I have had several people recommend Elise's site to me, but I am just not buying it. I love wearing high heels and corsets, and I love wearing couch potato loungwear. Same domme, regardless of outfit.

And just as an FYI, Wolf, in my blue collar family, the women have ruled for generations. Generalizations are often too glib to be useful. Did you see that movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding? The Greek mom tells her daughter, sure, the man is the head of the family. And the woman is the neck. She can make the head turn any way she wants! Power does not have to be obvious to exist.

no bluecollar family has the mom as the head of household, therefore the father figure is the man-of-the-house and HE lays down the rules. SO, being PATERNAL......as i was taught, there was NO female role established, other than doing as SHE was told also.

I was raised in a household of matriarcal women. I'm not sure which high school you attended, but I don't know of many women (other than chosen submissive of course) that "do what they are told" since the end of the 50's.

One of the things I admire about Elise Sutton is the research she accomplished prior to putting her words and pen to paper. [8|]

Just my opinion of course lol

Sardax -> RE: Elsie Sutton's "Female Domination" (7/27/2005 7:47:43 AM)

When I was illustrating the cover of her book I had email contact with Elise at numerous times and had no reason to imagine she was anything other than a serious-minded professional woman.I don't think marketing was ever one of her major concerns. She could easily have made her site pay by subscriptions and yet it has been free for a long time; as for whether she is privately dominant, who knows?

LilyOR -> RE: Elsie Sutton's "Female Domination" (7/27/2005 10:49:31 AM)

My .02

I think the idea of one gender being "superior" to the other gender wholly, utterly ridiculous. Each has strengths, weaknesses, roles, and stereotypes that come and go, ebb and flow over time, as things change. Oh my god, I didn't mean to rhyme. Please excuse that.

I'm a vertebrate biologist, though, and tend to see the gender/sex thing from a more scientific/objective perspective when it comes to topics like this one.

Niran -> RE: Elsie Sutton's "Female Domination" (7/29/2005 3:04:18 PM)

I do think the idea of one gender being dominant is something that does come and go. I also think that there are things that each gender does maintain superiority at on a whole, as all animals have their strength and weakness. For example, all men do a better job of taking out the garbage ;) (KIDDING)

As I stated in another thread, like any sort of non-fiction, "self-help" (pyl) book, you have to find the stuff that you agree with, use it, and learn from the stuff you disagree with. For example, why do I disagree that ALL men yearn to be dominated? Because I know men like Marquis from Lit, LOL. How do I know this? I have spent enough time reading his posts. The important thing is to know why you disagree, and thus you have benefitted still.

Hey Sardax,

Thank you for the information and the insight! Nice to know there is a real woman behind the pen. You make a good point about her site being free.

Nice job on the cover art!!

I also find that Sutton's emphasis on male chastity and the suppression of sex as a way to get your man to heel...while effective and fun, believe me....well I'm also a very lusty postmodern girl. I like fucking. I'm not into the virginal domestic Ice Queen thing, and I've never seen it as necessary to hold the reins.

I sometimes get the idea the majority of her webpage is written for older people with diminished sex drives, people who have been married for over 25 years. So I don't think her ideas apply to everybody.

But I myself do practice orgasm denial on my full time slave, I do often keep him locked in chastity, sometimes for months at a time. But that doesn't mean I am not enjoying sex. Of course I have all the benefits of the most focused and thoughtful massages, and oral worship, but for regular raw sex? He can be in two condoms, fucking away like a racehorse, I can have my pleasure, but he still doesn't cum. It works, and keeps him ready for me, and understanding his place.

btw, ladies, chastity doesn't make men into knights or eunichs. it amps up their libido through the roof, and makes them a bit more pliable. since you have the control to his release, and this device is constantly on his mind, their thoughts really do focus on you and how to please you. It can be simply wonderful. After a few months of this, the man changes, you wouldn't believe it, just simply more thoughtful and present and devoted. really positive qualities.

but I don't surpress the sex, I use the chastity device to sublimate it, and I use tease and denial to amp it up. I also allow for extended masturcise periods, where the slave may bring himself to the edge as often as they want, no cumming. just blue balling themselves. also wonderful. it doesn't take the chastity device to motivate, it is all in the orgasm control.

Miss Juliette

Hi, Sardax! How are your HTML editing dilemmas? Noticed an OS X HTML editor a few months ago and thought of you.

As for your impression of Elise's marketing motivation, I gotta differ with your perception -- BIGTIME! From where I'm sitting, her entire site is a ploy to sell her allegedly "researched" book (which isn't reliable/valid research based on established psycho-social theoretical standards of practice), get people to buy subscriptions to her e-zine at 10 bucks a pop, schedule sessions with her "associate," and then there's her bogus Psychoanalysis crap; she's totally lacking in credentials to steer that ship. Do you have any idea how many years of training it takes before one can become a Psychoanalytic practitioner? She adapted a theory from an introductory psychology book and slap-dashed it into a pro-Dom scene, which she's spoon-feeding to anyone who’s gullible enough to swallow her pabulum.

The long and short of it: Despite having a free website, it's anything but a labor of love. It's targeted at motivating people to reach into their wallets.

That's the opinion in Ti-Land and I'm sticking to it -- with eyes wide open!

~ Ti ~

P.S. If she hadn't slept through her undergraduate psychology classes, she'd know that it's psychodynamically impossible to establish an across-the-board truism about "all men" or "all women." Also, if she were being truthful about her background, she would not use the term "post-graduate" in reference to her activities. A person in psychology cannot claim "post-grad" anything until after being granted a Ph.D. or Psy.D. or Ed.D. or M.D. -- and none of those degrees apply to her. In fact, I noticed a Q&A reply on her site that distorted the notion of what one can do with particular psychology credentials.
