Don't fret, dc; I only learned what "420" was a reference to a couple years ago; probably because I can't stand marijuana and have a strong allergy to it...

...yet every single person I worked with at the time knew.

I only learned 420 a few days ago, thanks to dear old Google.

Tragically, my knowledge of pop culture ended with Lawrence Welk.

Me thinks you're being too polite, Lumus. You're just now catching it? Cats, ferrets, a hedgehog, videogames, computers, a son named Patrick Stewart...... Well, ok. For the sake of manners, I'll agree and say that there may be a slight trace there.  I won't mention my years of gaming experience.

I will.  25 years of RPG immersion; 23 of which have been spent on the creation and expansion of my own fantasy setting.  For core play I use Dungeons and Dragons rules; however, the same world has been used for writing "Vampire the Masquerade" LARP tales, "Shadowrun" parodies, a brief "ICE Middle Earth" crossover, and strangest of all, crossover with reality.

I'm a decent Scrabble player. Does that count as gaming?

Yes, and I'm sure my girl would love to play Scrabble with you online.  The only reason I banned it from her was because someone in the Yahoo chat version got rude and then threatening with her [in a creppy stalker style]...

If you know of any other Scrabble venues, dc, lemme know.  If she had a safe way to play it online she would love it.

Did you like the made-for-television remake that came out about six years ago?

I read a lot of sci-fi/fantasy here, awakened. I'm finishing up a trilogy by Guy Gavriel Kay right now. Dune is great though the movies didn't quite do it justice. The mini-series on Sci-Fi was a bit better than the 80's movie though. I just liked Kyle McLachlan, thats why I have the extended director's cut of it.   I loved the scene where Chani ties up Paul in the desert. 'nuff said there, I think....
