Editors.. I have and use the old Cool Edit 2.1... now Adobe Audition for 14 times the original price...

Track 1 is done playing.. I'll be surprised if I *don't* hear that in the next Tarantino film...

earthycouple -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (9/16/2007 8:33:26 AM)

hi ya! sappatoti.

awww poor bear....come back out and play....

e01n...wanna listen, but well, you know...I can't right now.

KMsAngel -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (9/16/2007 8:37:31 AM)

another time. i can see it in an anne rice vampire chronicles film... definitely.

instynctive -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (9/16/2007 8:37:48 AM)

Donna.. you do wanna listen.. it's good stuff... I'd play it during a scene (at least the first two tracks... lol)

Slow.. "heady"... and e01n mixes a FUCK of a lot better than My old drummer.. who runs his own recording studio..

instynctive -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (9/16/2007 8:41:08 AM)

e01n - next stupid question.. how's the Audacity 1.3 beta working, or are you still running the 1.2?

e01n -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (9/16/2007 8:41:45 AM)

I'll take that as a compliment, Mr. Insty... [;)]

Actually, pretty much everything is either standard stompbox-type tools or track surgery. The initial flange-o-matic is looped through a Space Echo. The "other" guitar is still gtr1, but with the effect chain switched over to a custom "Nigel Tufnel meets Brian May" program running on a DSP4 and out through a pod6 amp modeller... how we're getting feedback without amps is our dirty little secret. <BMFEG>

It's just guitar, bass, drum machine and vocals.

This is a song we were thinking of doing LIVE... so the structure is trying to reflect that as well.

Running Audacity 1.3.3 - pretty good on my laptop (p3-850, Debian Sid, 2.6.22-2). I've have some issues with VSTenabler, but I rarely use that anyway. I often just code my filters in csound or nyquist and run as such...

Also, to clarify: me, "singing" and bass. Rudy, guitar - maybe a stray glance at a mic. It's pretty much what we can muster while trying to play live. We're not *that* good... Thus the distraction through transvestitism...

beargonewild -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (9/16/2007 8:43:21 AM)

Very good! I can see playing these in the background during an intense meditation session!

AHA!  I knew an amp modeler was in there somehow.. LOL  I keep sitting here, looking at My Marshall thinking how sweet that song would sound with some toasty tubes driving the feedback (analog snob.. sorry.. lol)

I'm gonna grab 1.33 then... I've got literally thousands of songs written, can never find a project to stick together long enough to get tracks laid.. Sometimes you gotta do shit yourself.

You've also got CMail.

e01n -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (9/16/2007 9:02:44 AM)

Um... the feedback isn't from the amp model: that's set to "Spinal Puppet" and is pretty clean with a new tube smell...

And yes, I use amp modelling - I have neighbors... and live in a city with bored cops who don't mind coming over to say "turn it down."

A hint: I used to live in Indianapolis. The studio was in Indianapolis. Just off 56th street, to be precise... and one of 3Verse's first non-audio production gigs was building a LAMP box for the company in question...

Change of topic. Please.... [;)]

KMsAngel -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (9/16/2007 9:06:54 AM)

well, change it to me going to bed then

i'm drifting into my pillows and beds as its about 2 am. i'll catch you guys in a few hours, lol..

g'night everyone!

sappatoti -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (9/16/2007 9:07:39 AM)

I still knew there was a modeler involved somewhere.. LOL

Change of topic.. G'night, KM!

Oy.  I need to go to NH... but really don't want to get out of My jammies.. or the house.. lol

e01n -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (9/16/2007 9:15:20 AM)

'Night Angel...

Donna's new pic: Yes, though at the smaller iconic size, the top looks a bit...

Waitasecond! Why am I complaining? [;)]

Donna, great picture, dear... <weg>

[sm=river.gif][sm=river.gif][sm=river.gif][sm=river.gif]

now i'm so sad about my tree....the ground is still firm underfoot, but i think Dad, Sir and Sappa are prolly correct and it's not going to come back next year...for the record, i fucking HATE those god damned, tree killing, squiggly little fuckers [sm=mad.gif]

e01n....i don't doubt you're one hell've a cook, but those are two of the most complicated recipe's i've ever seen for buttermilk biscuits and red-eye gravy! [;)] (i may be 1/2 italian, but i was born and taught to cook in the deep south) [:D]

GREAT pieces btw....came into the studio and asked Sir who the artist was He was listening to...have to say, i'm fucking impressed....

Babe, the Les Paul is yours as soon as it's humanly possible [:)]

Personally, i want this one...it sounds like a dream:

*edited to add:  No, i don't ever expect to actually OWN an $8,000 Martin,  but it's a nice dream*

e01n -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (9/16/2007 9:30:51 AM)

The joke used to be that for a chef, I'm a great drummer... and for a drummer, I'm a great cook.

I can't be a drummer: I've no girlfriend, yet have a home. Same with owning a car and having a job. ad inifitum...

Yes, they're complicated recipes. There's lots of "non-essential" bits to traditional results, but trust me... there's a reason for being a bit baroque. But when you strip it down, much less complicated than it looks at first.

Oh, and the topic change was about audio geekery... not guitars and b'day presents and things like that...

divi -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (9/16/2007 10:05:51 AM)
