[&o]  *sighs* It was soooo much fun. Very creative at times as well. [:D]

Isn't that always the way? Just when things are going really well, the opportunity is taken away.

I enjoyed the exchanges, but I can see how they could be misinterpreted by those out in the general Internet population who anonymously browse these postings.

DiurnalVampire -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (6/28/2008 12:51:32 PM)

UGH I have a severe case of post-sunburn leprosy :(

sappatoti -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (6/28/2008 12:55:07 PM)

I'm sorry DV. Are you having it medically treated?

Shh! I hate it when people think I'm that "s" word. I have the Resident Man of Mystery thing to uphold.

WHO are you????? I feel as if I should know you.  Your very name brings forth vague remembrances that disappear when I reach for them.

Good. That means the Resident Enigma part of me is succeeding. ;-)

How's it going nursy?

DiurnalVampire -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (6/28/2008 12:58:56 PM)

No, i figure itll go away eventually
the spots on my back are fairly severe though, they are raw becasue i have no patience for the blisters to heal themselves

nursygirl -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (6/28/2008 1:00:27 PM)

Hi sappa - things are going well.  Settling into the life of retirement (for now).  On new meds that seems to be holding the pain at bay.  Got new glasses to help the eyestrain .... they rock - totally change the way I look.

LadyRainfire -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (6/28/2008 1:02:12 PM)

Hiya nursy..... Glad to hear about the meds and retirement. [:)]

I had something similar a number of years ago. While traveling to FL from NY, I drove an non-A/C car, which meant having the windows down. Pretending to be a trucker, I left my arm exposed to the sun the entire trip down... and back. Upon my return, I was in pain from the blisters on my fore- and upper arms.

When I got them checked out, I was told they were a sunburn; second-degree sunburn. They needed to be treated with topicals, though I don't remember what they were.

I urge you to get them checked out. Please?

New meds... Yay! I'm glad they're working for you.

New specs... Alright! Care to show us all? ;-)

Retirement... I hope you're finding it restful.

nursygirl -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (6/28/2008 1:32:51 PM)

New specs ...... maybe

Retirement ....... I'm sad to see the career go - 20 years in nursing - but its time for a change.

Do you mean to tell me that all the application pictures have disappeared?  So not fair!!!!

DiurnalVampire -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (6/28/2008 1:41:56 PM)

I'm ok Sappa, promise.Ive done this before. My skin is very sensative to the sun and having grown up on the beach I got this way on my first sunburn every year i got one. If I am patient enough to let the blisters heal, im fine, but I never am, the irritation is from where my brastraps lie. I hve my neosporin which was what my NY doctor had me use last time...
i just look all pink and patchy

I can't say how those pictures were stored on CM's servers, so I can't say with any certainty which ones have disappeared and which ones are still available. All I know is that back in September, some people used CM's mail to mail themselves pictures, grabbed the links to those pictures, and included those links in their posts. For those pictures linked in this fashion, for the time around September 2007, those pictures are no longer on the CM servers.

I realize those that host CM cannot keep the pics stored forever. I'm sure that pics recently linked by that fashion are still available. But it's fuzzy as to how many of the pics in the Arghonian archives are still valid and how many have forever disappeared.

Of course, there were some links that were directed to third party sites and as usual for the history of the Internet, some of those images are still available and others are not. I wasn't concerned about them, though some of those were pretty funny, disgusting, etc. ;-)

I'm just mourning all of the pics from that era that came from Arghonians themselves. They showed creativity and were fodder for discussions over a period of days and weeks. I guess, just as in real life, moments are meant to be enjoyed as they happen, and if you're lucky enough to have been there at the time, you have your own memories.

nursygirl -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (6/28/2008 1:44:01 PM)

DV - I hope you understand how much each sunburn increases your risk of skin cancer!  Please watch those burns and learn to cover up.  And try a cream that has lidocaine in it - that will take away the pain.

nursygirl -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (6/28/2008 1:45:16 PM)

And just maybe sappa - it is a sign that it is time to move on and create new memories .........................

sappatoti -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (6/28/2008 1:47:11 PM)

OK DV, I understand.

Hmmm... perhaps removing these particular irritants might be in order? I know, I know... easier said than done, for various reasons.

DiurnalVampire -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (6/28/2008 1:48:53 PM)

The burn was completely unintentional. When i lived by the beach it was well before we knew sunburns were anything but a pain in the ass when we had them. Ths time, Fox and I learned that waterproof sunblock isnt always.
We are being more careful, there is no way we are reliving this past week.

And at the moment I am in a halter top, so today being an off day I can keep them uncovered. usually... it isnt much of an option

nursygirl -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (6/28/2008 1:49:18 PM)

sappa - are you trying to undress DV?

Always try to, despite the occasional road block. :-)

I was just going back through the archives here to look for an image that was appropriate for another current thread. I found the old posts that had the image link, but I was just taken aback when the link no longer worked. I had assumed that the images would be there, for they were always there whenever I needed to go back and check for things. No biggie really, it was just unexpected.
