Well Ghita, since this is a production site you've got, you should bite the bullet and purchase their upgrade to continue on keeping your site running. However, and if it were me, I'd make that purchase the last one I buy from that vendor. After receiving the upgrade, I'd suggest turning off the automatic version check to prevent this from happening again, and I'd start a new project in determining how I'd go about making my site no longer dependent upon one manufacturer's software product.

Data conversion is never a fun thing (I've been through it a number of times... banks... power companies...) but the best scenario would be for your web site to be coded in such a manner that it can be easily imported into any number of tools for you to make the edits. Once the edits are done, the pages and files should be saved back out into standard formats to be uploaded to the site. By turning off the automatic version checking on your current software upgrade, you should be able to buy yourself some additional time in thinking about how to make your site editing easier.

How have you been? Havent seen you online lately, things going well for you? How about this summer we seem to be having again? So much for fall.....it was definantly nice for a few days though...I dont know how cool it got down where you are but it was open window weather here.....

I've been dabbling in setting up some test web sites of my own and getting frustrated with certain ISPs for the latencies involved in getting their DNS refreshes done.

Fall? What fall. Those two days blew by so fast I didn't have time for opening any windows. I was out, away from the house enjoying the weather those two days. Right now, I've got 94 F and yesterday it got to 97 F. But, since my immediate locale is considered a desert, I guess that's the new norm.

And, I may not be as smart as you think.

I hope you're UMs are getting better, and that you're doing well trying to juggle as much as you are.
