That's pretty much what I've concluded. I tried to avoid bashing, though I did get a bit snarky when I called him a "self-appointed expert on everything under the sun"! Then again, he is.

BTW, I loved, loved, loved your answers to the survey questions! I chuckle every time I think of the train reaching Chicago at 4 p.m.

awwww....but I love the bashing...

especially when they call me a dummy on the forums, then a bad slave, then attack my profile, then pm me and attack me some more, and then block me.

Fucker.

I have to admit that at some point, when all reasonable discussion has been put forth, and the natural course of the thread has reached the point of agreement, or at least a stalemate, and there's nothing left but devolving into personal bashing, it can be quite fun. ;)

Sometimes I think I should make another profile so I can say all the things I'm not willing to say with this one.

I know a few who have done that. Heck, I've done it on other sites. The problem becomes that, in the interests of keeping a thread bumped for public visibility, you have the potential of arguing with yourself.

;)

Oh, I argue with myself all the time.

Maybe I'll be a dom in my alter ego.

Best of luck tomorrow. Try not to let your anticipation develop into potential unrealistic expectations.

But, dream away about it while you sleep tonight. ;)

Really, it was great! Though I did wonder if you'd accounted for Amtrak's tendency to run late.

Also thought 42 was hysterical!

42 is the universal answer. The question becomes, did you have The Towel in your possession when giving out the universal answer?

Damn... this has nothing to do with what we're talking about... but I just visited the other side... the CM side... and the look of the site has changed. It's almost like they changed the stylesheets or whatever the underlying structure of the site is. It looks horrid using Safari 2.x on a Mac!

I was just going to say the same thing. Looks even worse on Firefox.

"What were they thinking?" I wonder.

I just checked it out with FireFox 2 and Camino 1.5, both Mac browsers. While those mini-profiles with the black backgrounds are readable in those two Mozilla-based browsers, the fact that the two-lines of text on some of the buttons almost stacked on top of each other makes it a bit difficult to read. However, everything else at least looks in scale with each other... all of the other button/links and their text are nicely proportioned. And, the color-coding of the members roles are maintained.

With Safari, the buttons and their text are H U G E !!!. There is no color-coding of members' roles, and the problem of having those who like black backgrounds in their mini-profiles aren't readable.

What were they thinking? I can't say for sure, but since the site uses software designed for a Microsoft IIS based server, my guess is they were making adjustments amenable to Internet Explorer. ;)
